To intensely dislike Rishi Sunak?

He has no backbone, no coherent policies (u-turns a dozen times a day)and no understanding of ordinary people's lives. Plus he wears all his clothes a size too small, which really irritates me.

It doesn't matter, Keir Starmer did not break the law.

The ones in charge, the ones making the laws, Johnson and Sunak did break the laws.

Johnson lied to Parliament and Sunak stayed silent.

Did Sunak stay silent?

Or did he sit next to him braying like some demented school boy, whilst the Head Boy was lying through his teeth?

How can anyone think that some who a) broke the law and apparently didn't know he had

Personally, I think Sunak was unlucky to receive the Covid fine - he turned up for a meeting. He certainly didn't tell a string of lies like Starmer did over the curry evening.

I don't know why you bother tussling over this issue. I once drove at 39 mph in a 30 zone. I went on a speed awareness course. End of story. My 'crime' was a lot worse than standing gormlessly in a meeting room.

Of course it matters.

Most people didn't break the law. I fail to see how that matters?
Would you like me to start a list of all the people who didn't break the law.

Here is a list of some who did.

Rishi Sunak
Boris Johnson

They also lied about their law breaking.

The then Chancellor, now Prime Minister is gormless.

I heard that he went to an expensive school as day boy and was Head Boy, and yet still he is gormless.

Last week he was telling us about the fictional blanket 20 mph speed limits he is going to stop

https://www.bbc.co.uk/news/articles/cml1g0kdy9go

An excellent idea. Makes our roads safer and less polluted. Surely everyone would support such an initiative?

Zoelander · 01/10/2023 16:40

It's so tiresome to keep hearing about where Rishi Sunak went to school and the fact he was head boy. It's embarrassing that he keeps referring to it at 40 plus years old
He is as unremarkable as the majority of head boys at Winchester according to my son who is a past pupil. Apparently he was ultra right wing at school which probably endeared him to those who select the head boy.

He is very wealthy to today due to the woman he married. The fact he was able to become PM is shameful but says a lot about this country.
Roll on the next election ! He is a complete embarrassment with no integrity whatsoever.

How old is your son? Was he a contemporary?

How many decades are you going to focus on this 'party'? 1? 2? Even Angela Rayner has stopped talking about it. 😆

Sunak was telling us about the fictional meat tax he was going to abolish

Sunak referred to 'proposals' for a meat tax;

https://www.telegraph.co.uk/environment/2021/10/29/meat-taxes-will-make-british-farmers-go-greener-says-george/

Is it a better look to have flip flopped on yet another policy, or to have made up a proposal that he has now scrapped?

Interestingly when interviewed Sunak was not able to say who had proposed a meat tax, rather suggesting he thought he had scrapped a proposal that did not exist. But then we have learnt that he is gormless, so we should be surprised.

In a discussion about Rishi Sunak's integrity his lawbreaking and willingness to sit beside his boss while the boss lied about it will always be relevant. It will be the legacy that he is remembered by. That and losing in an election to someone who was outlasted by a lettuce.

The fact he was able to become PM is shameful but says a lot about this country. Keir Starmer paid tribute to Sunak's achievement at PMQs. But then he's a decent man.

If Labour don't know what a woman is, and we only have Keir's word for it that he is a man, can we be sure he isn't a woman?

That's not a blanket speed limit

Iwantmyoldnameback · 01/10/2023 16:53

I'm so bored with Keir Starmer Currygate. It was pushed and pushed by the right wing press and he was still found not guilty. The trouble is the Tories have done so many other things since then it dilutes all their individual crap.

derxa · 01/10/2023 16:54

But then we have learnt that he is gormless 😂 Saying 'He is gormless' is a lot different from saying 'He behaved gormlessly', I'm sure even you have behaved gormlessly at times.

Passepartoute · 01/10/2023 16:54

Clavinova · 01/10/2023 15:59

Surrey County Council covered the fees up to age 16 - Starmer will have benefitted from a scholarship, bursary or part bursary.

So he didn't have a place at a good school bought for him by his parents.

itsgettingweird · 01/10/2023 16:54

Funny how they all have to go out when that question is asked.😄

And it's the tone. Like they think they are funny and clever avoiding the question.

It's not even infuriating. It reminds me why people can't vote Tory now. Because they can't say what benefit they are bringing the country. And their supporters are just proving the point!

Are you not a little bit concerned that the best defence of the current Prime Minister law breaking is that he behaved gormlessly to break the law?

Do you think that would be an acceptable defence if other criminals used it?
Oh sorry yer 'onor I was just being gormless for those 5 minutes while I stabbed someone.

DuncinToffee · 01/10/2023 16:56

@Clavinova

So what was my Freudian slip?
