To end my love affair with Ariel?

I always used Ariel wash powder. Smells good, (well at least it used to) obviously cleans well, kind to skin (mild eczema) etc etc.
£9 a box, then £10, then £11 now some revamped easy dissolve stuff at £13.50 for less washes ?? Taking the absolute piss !

So I finally did it. I admit I dallied with Aldi own brand in covid when I only used one shop for everything. Convinced myself it wasn’t as good as Ariel.

£3.95 for 40 washes. Just under 10p a wash compared to nearly 21p a wash with Ariel. Got the lavender and jasmine stuff. Well, it smells great! Cleans brilliantly and no itchy skin.

Anyone else took the plunge?

I use Persil bio and no fabric softener. . Someone on here told me that bio is actually better for sensitive skin as they are not so highly fragranced. They were right.

Can someone tell me which washing powder smells the least because I used to use Morrison's own and it was fabulous. It washed well and had less scent than some of the other brands. Unfortunately, they've changed the formulation and the result is that the powder is much finer and doesn't wash out as well - so much foam that I cannot get rid of no matter how little I use.

I shop at Aldi and Lidl anyway but haven't tried their powders. I want to continue using powder rather than liquid but can't stand the smell of Persil for example.

I have a Smol subscription. £5.80 for 24 tabs, works well and no plastic. It's a bit more expensive but I appreciate the environmental impact aspect. You can get a free trial too: Smol
