To want to know how much you talk to yourself?

I do,
I also spend quite a lot of time by myself (with animals not humans) so I find it hard to switch it off at other times.
My lovely gran chatted to herself so I feel I'm in good company.
I just need to feel I'm not the only one

You are not the only one.

NunsKnickers · 07/09/2023 20:41

I talk to myself, to.my pets, to random inanimate objects, plants, etc.

😄

NunsKnickers · 07/09/2023 20:45

Also, the other day my neighbour overheard me talking to my chickens!

Dinojump · 07/09/2023 20:45

I'll talk to myself, to anyone, and anything that will listen.

SensibleWearForGeographyFieldTrip · 07/09/2023 20:46

@NunsKnickers
Well all of those!
I said sorry to a shell yesterday for "kidnapping" them from their lovely beach

I'm the only one who makes any sense in my family so yes I talk to myself sometimes.

I love it!

And yes, this is precisely the sort of thing I would do. Luckily my DH finds it amusing.

Harrriet · 07/09/2023 20:48

I always to talk to myself, the telly and to random annoying objects. I talk to the dogs a lot but they answer back in their doggie way.

nadine90 · 07/09/2023 20:48

Yep, and I don't feel weird as I can hear my next door neighbour talking to herself all day long as well!

RamsesTheChub · 07/09/2023 20:50

I bumped into someone the other day, turned around with a big "I'm so sorry" and realised it was a lampost.

The blighter didn't even accept my apology

Fascinate · 07/09/2023 20:51

This is why I have a dog 🤣

efwx · 07/09/2023 20:52

All day every day 😂

bridgetreilly · 07/09/2023 20:53

Since I got a dog, I never talk to myself.

I talk to the dog all the time, obviously. He is very interested in everything I say.

Pleasenowthatsenough · 07/09/2023 20:53

Too much and I tend to to it a lot when I’m out walking 😁 and only realise i’m doing it when I get strange looks!

nutmegnook · 07/09/2023 20:54

There is a constant running commentary in my head and I have discussions with people in the shower in my head. I also interview myself from time to time, I'm perfectly normal honest! He he

BrioNotBiro · 07/09/2023 20:56

I talk loads to myself. I only realised how much when I had my dictation unintentionally on my computer and ended up with screeds of nonsensical babble!

Iamacatslave · 07/09/2023 20:58

I have wonderful conversations with myself and the cat.

YoongiMarryMe · 07/09/2023 21:00

No, no, never. I do talk to my guinea pigs though. Even if I’m in another room or on another floor - they have excellent hearing dontcha know?! Grin

Hedgesgalore · 07/09/2023 21:05

Talk to the dog.
Talk to the telly.
Talk to my appliances.
Talk to my plants.
Talk to my car.

There's a lovely robin that waits for me to put the food out, spoke to him this morning.

I tend to ask myself questions, where am I going with this? Why am I in the garage? What did I come in here for? What are we doing now? Right then, come on!

Was in the supermarket looking for something on the shelf and this woman stood right next to me and was chatting away, looked at her and realised she was talking to herself, full on conversation, now that was very odd.

SensibleWearForGeographyFieldTrip · 07/09/2023 21:05

@YoongiMarryMe
Aww haven't had guinea pigs for a few years, I miss their squeeks and their lovely energy.

I talk to myself all the time. There's nobody else who will listen - I do tend to go on a bit 😋

I've started to catch myself doing this out loud in the supermarket. 'What did I come in here for?'

It's only once or twice, but it's enough Confused

Mossstitch · 07/09/2023 21:09

I apologized to a bee that bumped into me in the garden😚i have a permanent running commentary in my head which sometimes escapes😳

Loveatortie · 07/09/2023 21:25

I don't talk to myself, i talk to the cats, house plants, the garden, telly. Ask the pantry, garage, bedrooms what i have come for. I also ask my car how he is and tell him where we are going that day. Have to consciously keep my mouth shut in the shops after a few funny looks 🤣
