Your ticket DOES NOT take you further than you think

Frivolous thread, but ScotRail have adopted a strapline for the Scottish train service, "Your ticket takes you further than you think".

It makes my teeth itch, it's so stupid.

Surely the one thing we can agree on is that your ticket takes you literally and precisely to the station stated on the ticket. In fact, going further is a criminal offence.

The OP is absolutely not being unreasonable

but I think the “see it say it sort it” is great!

I like it. There are a couple of ScotRail ads on bus shelters around here showing places I hadn't realised you could get to by train, with the walking distance from the nearest station.

It's not in Welsh! All I want to know is what platform for what stops. I get half an hour of blurb in the middle 😭

I could live with see it say it sort it. But it’s see it say it sorted which makes me irrationally annoyed. Like they wanted to use repetition as an advertising strategy but couldn’t quite be arsed to make the third one match.

Further in cost most likely. The price of train travel is a disgrace.

Does it mean they have offers for days out when you travel by train? GWR have e.g. 10% off West End Shows if you've bought a ticket.

Unless it's advertising a 'plus bus' scheme or similar, yanbu.

It's sortED, as I said. Which is the whole problem as it's forcing it to rhyme when it doesn't, which is irritating to many.

But the “sorted” but makes sense

ie if you report it, then there’s much more likely the issue will be “sort”ed!

And it’s not a rhyming phrase. It’s alliteration
