If women snored like men

If men were disturbed by snoring like women are, wibu to think it would be common that they’d be offered an operation to stop it?! Because I’m on a campsite and I can hear loud snoring from three tents, mine included. And I just feel women have to endure, as usual. Anyone?

(And I know some women snore…but it’s not the same!!)

The loudest snorers I know are women. The only difference between them and the male snorers is that the women apologise.

Have you ever been in a hospital ward that's not maternity ? God the snoring !! Have earplugs in the house in case you ever get admitted . I once had to ask the nurses for a hot chocolate , cotton wool balls(for ears) and a sleeping tablet . Believe women can snore .

BonnieBairn · 05/08/2023 01:42

I snore and so does my DH, the difference is he can fall asleep within 5seconds. I suffer from insomnia, fibromyalgia, chronic fatigue and anxiety. He can sleep through my snoring but I cannot sleep through his.

Doggydarling · 05/08/2023 01:42

I hate snorers on a campsite, they should have a separate section for them away from everyone who wants to sleep without listening to them snort and snore throughout the night. Husband used to snore so I moved into a room of my own, now he uses a cpap machine and the silence is wonderful but it took years for him to accept he needed help.

tt9 · 05/08/2023 01:59

yes you are right. ladies don't snore... or break wind ... and they always smell or rainbows and icecream 😂😂😂
Trust me both sexes snore! and not all women apologise .... the ones I know certainly don't

Caketea · 05/08/2023 02:02

I can’t hear any women snoring tonight but that’s not the point of the post!

Maybe if there was an app that could locate users and ping them to tell them their snoring is louder than X decibels and to go book in for their free op…that would be awesome.

How do you know who you can hear snoring?

WandaWonder · 05/08/2023 02:46

I snore like man no one has offered me a instant operation

Is this a new thing everything that annoys me stick a sticker on it 'if a man did it then magical fairy dust makes it all go away'?

Pinkbakerscap · 05/08/2023 03:00

You might be hearing women OP. Honestly my mum sounds like someone trying to start a tractor in a swamp. For years I thought it was my dad making the racket till I stayed at there's when he was away.

I agree though on the general point women do have to tolerate an awful lot!

sykadelic · 05/08/2023 03:26

I snore. My husband suffered through but got worse. He asked me, despite being pained to ask, if I could get checked.

I booked a sleep test, was prescribed a CPAP and here we are. Sometimes I still snore through the CPAP but that's how we know I'm ill.

That's the difference. A good person will get checked for their partner and deal with the situation, or good partners agree on a solution (such as separate rooms, ear plugs, etc). The others will not.

How can you possibly know it's not the women snoring?

Magicmichelle · 05/08/2023 05:02

Women snore too. Both my DH and I snore. You probably snore too sometimes! People wouldn't necessarily tell you.

PermanentTemporary · 05/08/2023 05:02

I snore but I do think it's not as loud as my late dh's snoring, which was fairly extreme. My partners always deny it keeps them awake but my female friends always put me in a single room if we're away in a group...

I have to say it's one of the things that has made me lose interest in camping.

bonzaitree · 05/08/2023 05:12

My OH snores like a foghorn and the. Complains when I don’t want to sleep in the same bed as him.

Not my problem mate! Get the snoring sorted then we can talk.

I literally get kicked awake every night because of my snoring 🤣🤣

ItHappenedALongTimeAgo · 05/08/2023 05:20

Christ. my mum shook the whole house with her snoring. So how do you know non of the snorers you hear are women?

snoretoomuch · 05/08/2023 05:24

Name changed.

I snored.

I was wired up to machines and tested for the level of snoring etc.

I've had an operation for it and had my uvula removed and stents put in my soft palete to stop it vibrating so much.

I still snore!

thatsn0tmyname · 05/08/2023 06:21

I'm the snorer in our house. It's rubbish for my partner who occasionally decamps to the sofa in desperation.

Cheesusisgrate · 05/08/2023 06:23

My DH was told to provide me with video evidence of my snoring for me to believe I snore.
He did. It was actually somewhat impresssive level of noise!
So someone like me could well be in one of those tents

Cheesusisgrate · 05/08/2023 06:24

On a serious nkse, there are physiological differences which make men anore more often than women.

WaitingfortheTardis · 05/08/2023 06:28

My mum regularly wakes herself up with her own snoring, women can be pretty loud too! It is an annoying noise though I agree.

You cannot “hear” that it’s a man snoring from outside a tent. It’s literally impossible.

I feel like this. If we share a bed I probably get an hour less sleep than him
