If women snored like men

If men were disturbed by snoring like women are, wibu to think it would be common that they’d be offered an operation to stop it?! Because I’m on a campsite and I can hear loud snoring from three tents, mine included. And I just feel women have to endure, as usual. Anyone?

(And I know some women snore…but it’s not the same!!)

I had a double operation, a septoplasty and turbinectomy together as my nose was completely blocked and I couldn't breathe through it.
I had already had my tonsils and adenoids removed as a teen.

I still snore but not as bad as before, however, there's nothing left to be cut out 🤷🏻‍♀️

KnackeredBack · 05/08/2023 11:41

I snore far more than my DH...don't drink much, not overweight, but snore like an extra from the Walking Dead apparently - zombie noises. Annoys the heck out of him and I entirely understand. Poor bloke!

KimberleyClark · 05/08/2023 11:43

I know of someone who snored so loudly that it turned on the touch sensitive lamp on her bedside table.

BadgerFacedCoo · 05/08/2023 11:49

I snore, so I lost a few lbs and I avoid having more than one or two drinks as that makes it worse.

The problem isn't snoring, I can't help it, my medication makes it worse. The problem is people who won't do anything to help the problem and let their partners suffer.

FarmGirl78 · 05/08/2023 13:47

I (F) snore like a foghorn. OH has slept downstairs before now when I've been really bad. I stayed at a friend's once and next morning the neighbours complained they hadn't been able to sleep.

My Mum snores so bad when I was away at Uni my Dad made her sleep in my old room at the opposite side of the house.

OP, I think it's hilarious you just assume it can't possibly be genteel little ladies making such a horrid uncooth noise.

I bet you don't fart either do you?

ExhaustedMuch · 05/08/2023 13:48

I snore louder than any man.

My maternity ward was full of women snoring so loudly I couldn’t sleep and had to be moved. They should’ve moved the snorers IMO

I got woken up and moved to a private room because of the noise I was making when DD2 was born. The private room had a bed with an adjustable back (it didn't work in the main ward, so I was flat on my back with an extra 2 stone of fluid retention), which stopped me snoring straight away.

Win-win all round, I'd say.

Jamtartforme · 05/08/2023 14:06

@NeverDropYourMooncup agreed! Makes no sense to move out all the women being kept awake rather than the 1 snoring, and to sweeten the pill they get their own room

tigger1001 · 05/08/2023 17:32

I think women do snore as badly as men can.

I use earphones playing sleep stories to drown out my partners snoring.

Menopausehaver · 05/08/2023 17:34

The operations don’t work, I had one, still snoring

I read one of these words very very incorrectly.

My mum snores terribly, she has receive complaints in hotelsbl before 🤣

Me too 😲 I was very confused for a moment 🤣

weegiemum · 05/08/2023 18:55

My dh used to be a horrific snorer, he has severe sleep apnea and now uses a CPAP machine so snores very little, though he does wake me up when he adjusts his mask and it sets off a hissing noise. Still nothing like as bad as the snoring!

I now snore worse than him but only when I'm flat on my back and it never disturbs him. I have a weird disability which means I don't move in my sleep so if I fall asleep on my back it's going to be a snorey night unless I wake myself. Sometimes I wake up with a tender soft palate and know I've been snoring. We both sleep much better with his cpap!

Are you sure it’s the men snoring? 🤣

DH tells me I snore like a bloke!

Thought I'd be the only one to misread that!😅

Caketea · 06/08/2023 01:37

It’s snore o’clock! Multiple people snoring in tents. I now realise how many women snore and stand corrected by you all. @Ace56 hit the nail on the head. And all of those who said the partner should do something about it - I am inclined to agree.

Whether that’s losing weight, stopping drinking and smoking, wearing a mask or whatever. But I’ve honestly never heard so many snorers in my life.

To the person that said I don’t fart. I let one rip in a camper van earlier. Tried blaming the dog but I was found out.

Have you ever been in a hospital ward that's not maternity ? God the snoring !! Have earplugs in the house in case you ever get admitted . I once had to ask the nurses for a hot chocolate , cotton wool balls(for ears) and a sleeping tablet . Believe women can snore .

Hot chocolate? Jeez oh, which hospital were you at? Grin

Underminer · 06/08/2023 01:44

I’m the loudest snorer in my house. Record myself on a snoring app and I am most often in the “epic” snoring and the noises are horrible. I should go and get checked out.

Ha that particular ward gets a lot of donations and by some cruel twist of fate I ended up back there yesterday, so I am writing from my hospital bed ,own room this time .😃

ObiKenobi · 06/08/2023 06:56

Some women snore louder than men, they just deny that they even snore.

DcatAnnie · 06/08/2023 07:04

DH has been an extreme snorer for years. He has just been diagnosed with Heart Failure caused by Obstructive Sleep Apnea. He now has a CPAP machine, I wish he had got it 10 years ago.
