If you scrape a car that blocked you in

Just that really. Your car doesn't have sensors, somebody has parked illegally in a car park and block you in making it very difficult to exit, and despite best efforts with lots of dry steering, you scrape the car trying to get out. What is reasonable to do next

It is, of course, a traffic offence to just drive off.

There's no reason for anyone to cause criminal damage to my car, because I don't park like a twat.

I also park in spaces big enough for my car. If people haven't mastered simple concept, they really shouldn't be allowed on the road.

If you only scraped the car, I don't think you were properly blocked in. Nevertheless, you leave a note with your details. I've scraped a badly parked car in a car park and of course left a note. We settled it privately outside of insurance.

If someone scraped my car I wouldn't just leave it, and I wouldn't expect anyone else to. Plenty of cars have dash cams these days, and CCTV is everywhere so it's a huge risk to drive away, not to mention an offence. If I just drove off I'd be anxious about having the police at my door!
