It just read like a ranty bit from some chick lit book.

There isn't any evidence, just links to spurious daily mail articles and twitter?

Nothing in it is pleasant, and some makes more uncomfortable and illegal leanings. But "the receipts" aren't proof.

megletthesecond · 07/07/2023 08:56

As popbitch are covering it it'll be true.

TidyDancer · 07/07/2023 08:56

The worst thing is that none of this is even remotely surprising.

MissingMoominMamma · 07/07/2023 08:58

Crikey!

Definitely sounds like his daughter wrote that as there is so much personal details of their childhood.

But the daughter over the years could have confided in a friend, relative, family retainer etc. Would a 20 year old daughter really want to bring so much attention on her family in this way?

But it’s not ‘her’ family it’s her Dad’s ‘new’ family and if he’s behaved badly she may not care about him or her future step mother.

They're not proof... but Popbitch is an extremely reliable source. I've been reading it years and things always come out in the end.

Depends how pissed off she was, I expect.

Never doubt the veiled comments in the Daily Fail. They know what they’re doing!

FuckYouDailyMail · 07/07/2023 09:15

Blimey that wasn't what I was expecting to read this morning. Happy wedding day to George and Thea!

PollyAmour · 07/07/2023 09:19

Oh my days. Happy wedding day George and Thea.

I think there are two young women referenced - or have I muddled it?

There are. One of whom was very very drunk. Vile human being. 😡

RedToothBrush · 07/07/2023 09:34

You know that moment when they ask "is there anyone here who knows of any reason these two should not be married?"...

It's awkward at the best of times.

But bloody hell that's going to be a painfully long pause with no one wanting to look at any one else too hard in case they fall under suspicion.

ScissorsPaperStone · 07/07/2023 09:37

How? How do we end up with people of such poor calibre running our country?

SeanDanielorBalonz · 07/07/2023 09:38

Thanks @AlecTrevelyan006. I do so wish the clicky links worked within the piece but I think I get the gist.

To the happy couple!

RedToothBrush · 07/07/2023 09:38

This doesn't make it sound like the kids.

That'll be the rest of the guest shifting uncomfortably on their seats too.

To offer George Osborne and Thea Rogers best wishes for their upcoming nuptials

True. I expect they probably loathe Thea, unsurprisingly in the circumstances, but that signoff likely means someone who also hates the whole group of people and culture. It could be one of his kids I gues. But reads to me more like they've been talking to someone and that person wrote this.

EggInANest · 07/07/2023 09:50

Nasty.

Yes, nasty behaviour no doubt, but I don’t want to be part of revenge gossip or threats to other parties.

If there has been wrong doing against the law, deal with it properly.

If it's any consolation it's not just the UK that has this problem.
Just think of your neighbouring countries.

northernstars · 07/07/2023 10:00

@VegetablesFightingToReclaimTheAubergieneEmoji Bingo!

Upsizer · 07/07/2023 10:05

Was anyone else reading this in Lady Whistledown’s voice….?

Tinysoxx · 07/07/2023 10:15

I don’t find it believable in that it makes out so many women have been attracted to him. The young girl stuff is serious though. Nasty and sordid whatever is false/true.

It’s a difficult one as, as the past few years have shown us, people in power should be called out if they do live such lives like this. The powerful have the means to hide it. And it shouldn’t be hidden to this extent - if it’s true they the people in question are surely targets for blackmail and ‘favours’.

countrypunk · 07/07/2023 10:28

@Upsizer 😂 Now I am!

I mean, we all knew he was a disgusting person. But this email plumbs new depths. The rape and sex with a 16 year old girl accusations are particularly sickening.
