I love the indie stuff too but the dance songs always perk me up!

Just check the playlist again because I couldn't remember this one's name but Played A Live - The Bongo Song is a good upbeat dance one too!

Here Comes the Hotstepper isn't a song I like but weirdly I always feel the need to either strut through the house when it's on or nod my head Flat Eric style to it if I'm in the car

My recollection is that the 90s had 2 very distinct genres, dance and indie/grunge and it wasn't just the music there was a whole subculture, different clothing, different pubs/clubs. I was very much on the grunge side and really hated the dance stuff but funnily enough it's the dance stuff that really hits me with nostalgia now. I guess it was the soundtrack to my life

Fiona dances to that in Shameless when she gets her handbag nicked and meets Steve for the first time.

I did my GCSE's in 95, that summer I had my first boyfriend and the following years were just partying , in between college and a part time job. No responsibility, just friends spare cash and fun.

The entirety of The Holy Bible by the Manics. The whole thing. (I especially love watching the Top of The Pops performance of ‘Faster’ - wee teenyboppers smiling and dancing along to James Dean Bradfield in his IRA balaclava!)
