Fifty plus and overweight although trying to slim down. Bought some big M and S pants and am a complete convert! So comfortable. They look like granny pants but they don’t ride up, pinch or try to cut me in two. DH seems to still fancy me in them which is a bonus, I suppose.

please tell me I’m not the only elderly, fat saddo who only wants to wear giant Bridget knickers!

Of course wear what you like!

But no, never for me. I cannot foresee a day where I'll be in big pants.

I don't buy fancy underwear but almost always M&S lingerie sets - so matching or complimenting bras & knickers. Style-wise they are usually high leg or Brazilian so a decent amount of coverage. They are also never ever cotton (or not fully - always some design / lace detail).

I'm very precious about my underwear even tho I don't spend huge amounts.

I had my first baby at 18 and started wearing them then, I'm 29 now and still wear them! So comfortable couldn't wear anything else!

Lemonademoney · 31/05/2023 18:09

Love love love my big pants! I get the black ones from Next - think they are officially called boy shorts or something similar but I buy a new pack every year 😂

Justcashnosweets · 31/05/2023 18:14

I've been wearing full briefs since I was pregnant with my daughter 10 years ago. I have never and will never go back to smaller pants!

Netcam · 31/05/2023 18:18

Been wearing boy shorts for years, can't stand skimpy pants that ride up my bum.

booksandbrooks · 31/05/2023 18:24

Me and my bff have always loved massive pants. We loved them in primary school, secondary school through post partum and middle age.
Massive DGAF granny pants are the best.

100% with you on this one. I even buy a size up so they’re even more comfortable!

I buy two sizes up. That completely eliminates any VPL as they just sit on the skin and don't dig in anywhere.

FabFitFifties · 31/05/2023 18:31

Big knicker lover here too! Look much better under clothes and you forget you've got them on. The string wearing me of my 20's and 30's would be mortified, but I don't care. I converted about a year ago and I'm not going back.

misskatamari · 31/05/2023 18:33

Yanbu! I make my own using the waves and wild pants pattern, and they are the comfiest things ever! Also look awesome as I make them in fun jersey print fabric

SaxSick · 31/05/2023 18:33

My faves were a Sloggi shorty but think they have stopped making the one I like now. It was perfect for under gym leggings. Just looked and they have masses of new styles but a tad pricey.

Askil · 31/05/2023 18:38

Welcome aboard @OP! I've been wearing knickers a size too big for 2yrs now. They are brilliant. No chaffing of the groin, no honking up the foof. Everything just feels nice and easy and airy Smile.

@TellySavalashairbrush
G strings are my idea of hell. How anyone wears them is anyone's guess. That stringy bit riding deep inside your bum must reek!

MrsRandom123 · 31/05/2023 18:46

I’mnot fat & wear big pants in a size 8 which are a bit lose but i struggle trying to find them
in a smaller size - they are much more comfortable over my c section pouch been wearing them since i was 30! My husband jokes but doesn’t care as they come off the same way! I can’t believe i used to wear thongs etc as the big pants are a lot more comfortable. I also wear anti chaffing shorts in this heat and he was admittedly a bit taken back by them over my giant pants but comfort all the way!

Thecaravan · 31/05/2023 18:46

@Silvergoldandglitter same here. Hate wearing big knickers. Seems we're in the minority though! Maybe at 45 I should be transitioning to big pants but just don't feel ready 😁

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 31/05/2023 18:49

I came out the womb wearing big pants practically Grin.

Have always loved them. My thong loving friends used to scoff at me but one by one they’ve come over to the comfy side.

They all look the same flung on the floor and DP says he only cares what’s under the wrapper so they’re not impinging on my sex life.

I had a big bonus at work recently and treated myself to some Stripe & Stare high waisted ones and god they’re good.

JonahAndTheSnail · 31/05/2023 18:53

I like my belly button and bum cheeks to be covered, nothing worse than pants giving you a wedgie!

Askil · 31/05/2023 18:59

@ColonelRhubarbBikini Those Stripe and Stare knickers, £18 for 1 Shock.

ThisGirlCab · 31/05/2023 19:09

The smallest I ever went was french knickers as a teen while all my friends were wearing thongs and g strings. My pants have gradually gotten bigger. Im 30 and I'm ok with it, DH couldn't care less if he tried.

bellac11 · 31/05/2023 19:15

Ive been wearing them since my 20s and even before then I didnt wear skimpy or lacy fancy stuff.

I like the playtex black big knickers from amazon, they're the best quality I have found. Fed up of gussets developing holes in anything else.

I only ever wear black ones

OhDoh · 31/05/2023 19:17

I'm 33 and love my granny pants! So bloody comfy!

MyMachineAndMe · 31/05/2023 19:21

Life is too short to wear uncomfortable pants. Put the big ones on and live it large.

dontchaknow · 31/05/2023 19:24

I always buy a size up for knickers, whether they are granny pants or otherwise. Can't stand too tight knickers.

Geranium1984 · 31/05/2023 19:34

I'm in my 30's, have a 6 month old baby (am back to a size 8) but still wearing my bug post partum granny knickers! They're so comfy! I don't have time for wedgies 😅

beepbeepbeepbeepbeepbeep · 31/05/2023 19:36

I'm 31 and a size 6-8 but I love big pants. So much more comfortable and I think they can be sexier!

ColonelRhubarbBikini · 31/05/2023 19:54

Askil · 31/05/2023 18:59

@ColonelRhubarbBikini Those Stripe and Stare knickers, £18 for 1 Shock.

I know Blush. They’re £50 for 4 though and I had a discount code so it was a tenner a pair which is still extravagance but I thought sod it I deserve it and they are so comfy. DH can tell when I’m wearing them because I’m more cheerful Grin

Jupiter15 · 31/05/2023 19:55

I love big pants, always have. I actually can’t understand how people manage to wear thongs and g-strings!
