To only where big pants from now on?

Fifty plus and overweight although trying to slim down. Bought some big M and S pants and am a complete convert! So comfortable. They look like granny pants but they don’t ride up, pinch or try to cut me in two. DH seems to still fancy me in them which is a bonus, I suppose.

please tell me I’m not the only elderly, fat saddo who only wants to wear giant Bridget knickers!

Although my granny used the wear the type where the wasitband ended just under her bra band 😂

quoteoutofcontext · 31/05/2023 15:38

I swapped a few years ago too. Was a thong only wearer through 20s and early 30s. I couldn't bring myself to wear granny shape pants but found the solution in short style ladies pants. Primark of all places do super comfy stretch ones.

Frieda12 · 31/05/2023 15:38

100% with you on this one. I even buy a size up so they’re even more comfortable!

Wear what you want OP (and others).

I would find them very uncomfy and I have a ridiculously long torso so jeans that fit others normally are hip huggers on me. Tall panties would not work at all. I’m just happy midrise and longer jeans are back in circulation… it means I can actually have them fit at my natural waist.

I got some big pants from M&S for my hospital bag after I had DS2. He's walking now and I'm still wearing them. I'm 36.

stepstepstep · 31/05/2023 16:19

Also a post c-section massive pants wearer - 14 years and counting. Also my good friend gave me the best ever piece of advice - only ever buy black pants. Nobody needs white pants that go grey in the first wash. And if you are thinking of wearing white trousers then… don’t. Words to live by.

SilverTotoro · 31/05/2023 17:03

Another here who started with big M&S pants in my mid 30s. I do buy pretty bras though, normally from fantasie who also tend to do big matching pants so I can coordinate and still be comfy if the occasion calls for it!

Chocchops72 · 31/05/2023 17:06

What about switching to comfortable sleeping type bras ? I’m 51 and getting close to ditching the underwires…

Roselilly36 · 31/05/2023 17:06

Started wearing big pants when I was on a injectable disease modifying drug and my usual high legs rubbed the injection points, now on an oral DMD, and still wearing big pants, no way back now! 😂

isitaline97 · 31/05/2023 17:08

I'm 26 and have been wearing Bridget jones knickers for at least 7 years 😂 can't be doing with anything else

Nanny31 · 31/05/2023 17:30

32! Wouldn't wear any other style except good old Bridget Jones pants !😆

ThePensivePig · 31/05/2023 17:33

Comfy pants all the way here! Love 'em.

Skyrim40 · 31/05/2023 17:36

I wear absolutely massive pants and a cotton robe round the house and nothing else but always the big pants lovey and comfy.

Bishybarnacle · 31/05/2023 17:40

Big knickers fan here too!

Lannielou · 31/05/2023 17:42

Granny pants for me too

BobbinThreadbare123 · 31/05/2023 17:46

I have never worn anything else...some of that is thanks to ASD sensory issues but mostly it's about being comfy!
I too rate Boyes!

Tessisme · 31/05/2023 17:47

Coronationstation · 31/05/2023 14:57

wear whatever the hell you want, it's not like anyone is going to see them is it??

How do you know?😁

Squirrelsnut · 31/05/2023 17:47

52 also and generally wear unwired bralettes, preferably of a ultra soft fabric. Underwires are the devil's work.

sonjadog · 31/05/2023 17:48

I love my big pants. When you start, you can never go back to skimpier pants. They are just too uncomfy.

SnugAsA · 31/05/2023 17:49

The whole idea that no-one should be able to see a line indicating that you're wearing underwear annoys me. And? Yes, as you have astutely observed, I'm wearing underwear. Would you rather that I didn't? I'm a real person who wears all the typical layers of clothing, including undergarments. Why should I be embarrassed about that or try to hide it?

I like comfortable underwear, but I prefer the lower-cut ones to the high-waist style. Same for jeans.

Lemonclub88 · 31/05/2023 17:51

My OH goes all gooey and misty eyed when I say I think I might get some big knickers instead of teeny tiny ones. It seems men do like them. God knows. 1st they don't then they do and then they declare that nothing at all is even better. Suppose there'd be no vpl.

Mommasgotabrandnewbag · 31/05/2023 17:51

Christ I moved to big knickers at the age of about 24.

I gave and give no shits.

TellySavalashairbrush · 31/05/2023 17:57

Always loved big knickers and now at an age where I am no longer embarrassed. SIL is 60 and still only wears g-strings 😱
