Name changed, as I’ve told MIL and DSis about this already…

Putting my little boy (just turned 4) to bed and he told me “I built 60 bridges during the war and I also built a bomb”. I asked him why he built a bomb and he said “I put 2 bombs on each of my bridges to protect them”. He also said “the factories were covered in camouflage”.

He then added “and a fighter jet plane falled to the ground”.

It was such a ramble of words and then he just wanted to snuggle down and go to sleep.

Has anyone else had a similar experience with their little ones? He won’t talk about it any further. Puzzled!!

I haven't had this , but there's quite a lot written about it.

olympicsrock · 28/05/2023 15:18

No - I believe you are making something out of this which does not exist. He was just a little boy talking about something in his imagination or from a game or a film.

Freshfoods · 28/05/2023 15:24

'The factories were covered in camouflage ' seems an unlikely sentence from a four year old. I think it may be a reference to a past life, but impossible to prove. It might be worth reading about the subject.

Pinkbonbon · 28/05/2023 15:25

Theres a show on TV about kids with past lives. If I can remember it I'll comment. Its probably on some streaming service òr other.

I don't see why not.

Maybe ask him lots of questions whenhe seems lucid about it incase the memories come and go.

When I was a kid aroubd 3 or 4 I remember desperately trying to get out to the bottom of my garden to speak with a lad a few years older than me, every day. Apparently I told him I was his grandma, before xD (a relative told me but I've no memory of that).

Odd behavior from me as i had little interest in other kids at that age. Very much an introverted kid.

So who knows.

SirenSays · 28/05/2023 15:26

No I don't. I used to work with a self proclaimed psychic who told everyone they were either cleopatra, a victorian child or King's mistress in a past life.

Iyiyiiii · 28/05/2023 15:28

Nope, I personally think it's a load of twaddle

Zarataralara · 28/05/2023 15:29

Yes. Not so much detail but definitely of the “ I did this, I died when I was an old man” from a very verbal almost 4 year old. There’s a theory that up to about 4 children remember past lives but the brain changes to prevent us remembering when older.
I’ve also been able to help adults to describe past lives, very interesting.

blobby10 · 28/05/2023 15:30

Yes I do and had similar with my then 2year old son x we never questioned him or put words into his mouth but some of the stuff he came out with was amazing x between the ages of 2 and 5 he talked about two separate previous lives and even described dying when he fell off a boat 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️who am I to say whether he was or wasn’t telling the truth? Just because science can’t prove it doesn’t make it untrue

Pinkbonbon · 28/05/2023 15:32

Ah show is called 'the ghost inside my child'
Spooky. Think there's a few seasons of it.

JamSandle · 28/05/2023 15:33

On the fence leaning towards no.

Createausername1970 · 28/05/2023 15:34

My gut reaction is no. But when I was about 7 I visited a town with my parents that none of us had been to before. Mum wanted a particular shop and apparently I said I knew where it was and took them to it, via some back streets (not simply a case of having noticed it in the drive in). My mum said it was very weird, I didn't hesitate about where to go, I just knew.

So whilst I don't believe in past life, I am open to being proved wrong.

Againstmachine · 28/05/2023 15:38

It's utter bollocks, people read and see things and add it to their selves.

Clairvoyants , Psychics, mediums, past life's, ghosts etc.

TwilightSkies · 28/05/2023 15:41

I believe it yes.

FirstnameSuesecondnamePerb · 28/05/2023 15:48

I do, or I think memories are passed down somehow.
My Mum, as a child had powerful memories of being I'm service at a house. When she was in her 20s she went past it on a bus.
My youngest DD used to tell us about her "family that lived in the woods".

WildInYourEyes · 28/05/2023 15:55

No. Kids talk all sorts of rubbish. 😅 Certain people make it into a drama and read more into it for attention.

Saw what people might call a ghost once.
(Wide awake, sober).

It wasn't casper the friendly ghost either. It was a deeply unpleasant experience. 15-20 minutes until it fucked off. So no doubt as to what it was.
We just don't know what's out there until you're unfortunate enough to cross its path. Or mess with something you shouldn't.

I'm sure once upon a time some people thought lions were a myth.

Do I believe the dead come back and haunt us? Probably not. But there's stuff out there we'll never understand... and if you don't believe in it, be grateful you still have that luxury (for now ;) )

JaceLancs · 28/05/2023 15:58

We took DD to the IOW when she was 3 none of us had ever been before but she knew where everything was and even told us what we were going to see before we did eg at osbourne house she described the royal nurseries perfectly before we went

Nobody ever gets 'peasant who died of the plague aged 24' do they...

tuvamoodyson · 28/05/2023 16:16

No.

GenerallyGreenerGrass · 28/05/2023 16:49

Just because some people don’t believe in past lives, doesn’t mean it’s not true.
I prefer to be open minded.

Blossomandbee · 28/05/2023 16:51

I think there's something in it. There are too many people with these stories to discount it completely, you only have to see a social media post in the subject and there is always hundreds of replies.
I don't know if I believe in reincarnation or some kind of genetic memory that's passed down, but there's so much we don't know about life, energy and the universe that it's impossible to say. No one knows. I find it really interesting.

HappyMe6 · 28/05/2023 16:54

Yes I believe

CurlewKate · 28/05/2023 16:57

"I haven't had this , but there's quite a lot written about it."
And not a single case that doesn't, on investigation, turn out to have a simple, perfectly rational explanation.

Rollonannualeave · 28/05/2023 17:01

Wow. Please do not discount this. Gently ask questions and document details. Ask what his name was etc you may want to get in touch with a past life specialist.

Respectfully. You are wrong.
