Cheese sauce nachos are the best cinema snack?

Now everything is overpriced we know that, and the popcorn smell draws you in but the cheese sauce on the nachos are the best cinema snack right?

The hotdogs are meh.

I guess it doesn't even have to be nachos. Cheese sauce with like potato fry things that they sell is also excellent.

Absolutely not nachos with that weird cheese sauce 🤢
But on the very rare occasion that I go to the cinema (twice in 10 years perhaps? I hate films, always fall asleep!) we get popcorn/sweets/ice cream.
because I go so infrequently I don’t mind paying for them at the cinema!

I personally go two cheese sauces and a salsa. It's definitely not fine dining to be fair and is really processed and crap, that being said its processed and crap so bad that every once in a while you're like ah I really fancy it

You can get them in one of those heavy-duty paper boat things, but the batting helmet adds to the ambiance of the ballpark nachos experience, IMO. 😉

When I was speaking to a manager a few years ago they said they aim to make at least £1000 on food/ drink per screening.

If you have like a 400 seat screening that would be only an additional £2.50 if sold out, but obviously when films aren't as full and say you have only 100 people which is still a lot for a lot of screenings and that's another £25

Was actually just watching a film thinking about this and knew I got it wrong as I wrote 40 people first of all. At 100 people it would be £10

I've gotta go with popcorn, extra butter, at the movie theater. The ballpark is the place for nachos - chips, queso, shredded chicken, salsa, lettuce, sour cream, and jalapeños. Served in plastic batting helmet.

It was at a " college football" game I was introduced to cheese sauce nachos and they were the best non home made cheese sauce nachos I've had

I have tried it...and I'm not against it. I think the best is the sauce with the waffle things that odeon sells. The only issue is that the sauce although pre made there's something that they do which affects the taste and its sometimes better than other times and hotter the better

Love cinema nachos. Always large with one cheese one salsa and one guac, with a half and half ice blast. Then need to remortgage my house to pay for it Grin

If you ever worked in a cinema and saw the congealed sauce at the end of the night it would put you off. Also comes in a massive tin, horrible stuff. Love nachos, would never eat cinema nachos.

I worked in cinemas for years and still love their nachos!

Agreed. Smelly oinkers eating disgusting junk food is the main reason I stay away from mainstream cinemas.

yes well a lot of cheese stuff does…

it’s no Camembert but cinema nacho cheese is great stuff imho. I don’t really care how it looks or whether it comes in a tin or not. I’m slightly put out I can’t buy it in a tin from Asda.

I find nachos that don't have the full whack - guacamole, salsa, sour cream, jalapeños etc - a bit disappointing. Salted popcorn is definitely the best cinema snack, I crave going just for that!

Very true. I used to love cinema nachos, but moved house and now go to Cineworld as it is the nearest cinema. The cheese sauce is truly disgusting (I love the cheap plastic cheese sauce served in most cinemas). It's thin, vinegary, weird stuff, that tastes off. Such a shame.
