My Neighbour collects Dog S**T

I live next door to Victor Meldrew, really not a very nice person.

Few years back he knocked on my door at 11.30pm at night and told me to turn the Fing music down. There was no music playing, I have a severally disabled child who was asleep in bed. He then reported me for making too much noise for using my washing machine and tumble dryer too much. I live in a detached house. Even when the council came and done their inspection, they too could not see what his problem was.

I’m a considerate and quiet neighbour who keeps myself to myself.

So advise please. Victor Meldrew has a dog, he is very good at picking the poo up and putting it in a doggie poo bag, but ! For the last year it has sat on his patio table (bags and bags of it) this has now been move to his front garden, to join the numerous amount of full poo bags piling up.

My laundry room door is not too far away from his stash of poo, which I do sometimes leave open. I’m concerned about the amount of flies I had last year happening again this year.

He’s not an approachable guy, what do I do or it is his garden and he can stash dog poo if he wants too? 🥴 AIBU to report this or is it none of my business.

Report him to you local council. Don't engage with him. Say nothing to him, but definitely report him

Ramunea · 25/04/2023 12:06

Report it. That’s disgusting and surely hazardous to health!?!

MasterOfOne · 25/04/2023 12:07

Yup report to environmental health at your local council.

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2023 12:08

Oh that's weird and disgusting I'd just report him to environmental health and don't tell or engage with him !

Bluelightbaby · 25/04/2023 12:08

Try and take photos and report to environmental health. Yuck !

Thesharkradar · 25/04/2023 12:08

He sounds like a deeply unpleasant and nasty person 😟
what sort of age is he?

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2023 12:10

If he's moved it out front then it could be "anybody" that reported it. Wonder what that's all about I mean just bin the bags .

ThreeFeetTall · 25/04/2023 12:12

He doesn't sound like he is very well. Why collect and leave it there, yuk!

Report to the council and hopefully they can put some support in place

Yerroblemom1923 · 25/04/2023 12:12

Report it. It's unsanitary.

Piggypied · 25/04/2023 12:13

He's deliberately doing this to u to upset u is my gut reaction. What a vile man. Do u live alone op? Send your husband round if u have one or male partner!!! Defo report him!!!

Ethsmum · 25/04/2023 12:19

I would say he is late 60’s early 70’s… he knows everyone’s business and complains constantly about people. Patrols the roads with his dog… One day he might say hello to me and another he will ignore me. I am on my own. I should say he doesn’t intimidate me at all but didn’t know if I should just not make it my business, and did not want to come down to his level.
Thank you all of you for your comments..

Report; and the neighbourhood team can come and engage. They'll be able to consider whether to address as an anti social behaviour issue; or whether engagement with other services is more appropriate.

Piggypied · 25/04/2023 12:25

You need to report it. Imagine the smell in the summer Jesus wept.

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2023 12:25

I had a neighbour like this no dog shit that's up there isn't it ! Bur she was exhausting to live beside the complaining the knocking on your door for absolute nonsense. So I feel your pain just don't acknowledge him even if he is on a good day .

Thesharkradar · 25/04/2023 12:28

I would be keeping a very detailed log of everything this man does, as he gets older and more set in his ways more convinced that he is right and everyone else is wrong his behavior may worsen.
Because he thinks he's always right he'll be easy to trip up, he won't be able to see his own errors.
If you are careful and strategic it should be easy to out maneuver this man.
I probably wouldn't engage with him any more than I had to, I would avoid any direct conflict.

Thesharkradar · 25/04/2023 12:31

It sounds as if he is or is becoming mentally unwell, or is developing cognitive issues.
Hoarding dog excrement is a very peculiar thing to do.

Theunamedcat · 25/04/2023 12:33

Does he have a dog? Do you? He sounds like he has mental health issues

Ethsmum · 25/04/2023 12:36

Yes he has a dog.. it’s his dogs poo.. I too have a dog, who is a very well behaved girl who likes to poo in her own garden. This is disposed of and picked up immediately..

Your council will probably have an online for you can fill in do it today ,don't let it fester in your mind just do it and if he needs help maybe whoever comes to speak to him about the shit will pick up on any issues he may have .

Mrsjayy · 25/04/2023 12:41

Form*

Thesharkradar · 25/04/2023 12:42

A large pile of dog feces is surely a public health hazard!!

CallieQ · 25/04/2023 12:44

Omg that is disgusting! Surely a health hazard

Seas164 · 25/04/2023 12:46

Environmental Health would get involved with an enormous heap of hoarded dog poo, ignore him altogether, just get in touch with the council and they should clear it.

Whether or not it's on his property, recreating Mt Kilimanjaro out of dog shit over several years isn't really on.

Goodread1 · 25/04/2023 12:48

Report him to your local council

Environmental Dept

Environmental officer to come out and pay him a vist to sort it out
Address this issue

Ewww

What's wrong with him

BanditsOnTheHorizon · 25/04/2023 12:52

Report it to environmental health, I think you can do this via the website and anonymously
