Ive decided I need to make some changes to get more of a work life balance and not take work so seriously, I’m mid 40s and still find myself getting stressed about work, please tell me your tips on how to switch off from it if you’ve made to get a good balance?

Honestly I was only to achieve a good balance once I switched to fully remote. Appreciate that’s not always easy for everyone though

It's so hard isn't it, there isn't an easy answer and I'm sending you very best wishes as you find a way to balance it all that works for you.

I changed jobs to something I really care about, halved my salary in the process and only work during the school day. It's a big leap to take though and please be kind to yourself as you find a way to make life and work integrate x

I work in a stressful job. The things that help me are:

Making sure everything is done by the end of my last of the week. This means working flat out, through my lunch, arriving early, delegating. Even if I have to do something badly and return to it the following week, I'll do that rather than not finishing it.
Put processes in at work that increase productivity- template email responses, spreadsheets to track progress etc.

Outside of work I have lots of things to do- you will want to get finished so you can get home. I arrange walks with friends, exercise classes, movie nights etc. you'll soon be thinking about these on your way home from work rather than what happened at work.

I have the flexibility to work from home which helps, as I can fit in exercise, meditation etc during the day. I also work 3 days now instead of full time, which has transformed my life really.
