I'm turning into that grumpy middle aged woman.... 🤣. Seems like lots of little things annoy me

This morning's being, stopped at cafe for breakfast
My coffee didn't arrive until I'd finished my bacon sandwich

Day ruined 😉😂

OP posts:

Pens that write scratchily.

<glowers>

VainAbigail · 04/03/2023 14:43

The people that park on the ‘up’ kerb between me and my neighbour, but let their bumpers hang over my drop 😡

Laloca2000 · 04/03/2023 14:49

People who stop and blether in the middle of the pavement. They see you trying to squeeze around them and STILL don't move over to one side. That, and cyclists who ride on pavements or have no lights or sound when approaching from behind on the shared pedestrian/cycle path at night. Gives me the RAGE!

GoodChat · 04/03/2023 14:51

People who stop and check their receipt as they are exiting the supermarket - right in the middle of the walkway Angry

lieselotte · 04/03/2023 14:53

So many things. I have been a grumpy old woman since forever.

As you mentioned coffee I raise you the cafes who bring you a huge pot of tea with a teeny tiny pot of milk. And the cafes which don't tell you if it's table service or self-service.

The fact that our local postpeople have decided only to come down our road about 3 days a week.

A magazine I get has tiny print and huge photos even though I suspect the main demographic is middle aged and fit retired people (cycle magazine). So why not make the print bigger and the photos smaller so we don't all have to go looking for glasses/magnifying glasses?

And my perennial: people who park on pavements.

Quveas · 04/03/2023 14:53

The "not a word" innit. I seems like everyone under the age of 40 is unaware that it is "isn't it".

Indigoshift · 04/03/2023 14:54

Faffers, just crack on with it.

KatherineJaneway · 04/03/2023 14:54

People who wait until they get to the till at the petrol station to look at the pump number they filled up from. They start craning their necks and saying things like 'It's the red car'.

People who stand there while the cashier scans all their food but doesn't start packing right away but looks around going 'tum te tum' then appears to be flustered when asked for payment and realising they have to pack their own goods.

Those people at busy tube stations who think they can just cut to the front of the line to stand on the escalators going up as if queuing does not apply to them. Had one the other day, I cut him off.

Stinkypup · 04/03/2023 14:55

My husband putting too much washing in the washing machine.

HuntingoftheSnark · 04/03/2023 14:56

When self service checkouts give you change, say 10p to 40p, in copper coins. Sainsbury’s is a particular culprit!

Thelnebriati · 04/03/2023 14:58

Local council has given us all 2 caddies for food waste. Except they are not made from food safe plastic so we also have to buy biodegradable bags at £2 a pack.
Why the heck didn't they just buy bins made from food safe plastic?

Nocaloriesinchocolate · 04/03/2023 15:01

People parking on either side of the road through our village creating a sort of chicane effect so you have to keep pulling out to pass and weaving round them. I dont mean parking directly opposite another car, just a bit further down,

Hbh17 · 04/03/2023 15:03

I'm grumpy too.... there are so many things!
People who talk about "train stations" (yes, Radio 4, I include you).
People who want to chat to the checkout person at the supermarket.
People who park too close because they have relied on parking radar but are too stupid/selfish to realise that they have blocked me in.
People who expect an answer to a text message within minutes/hours.

Those are just for starters....

DrMadelineMaxwell · 04/03/2023 15:04

I'm the opposite OP - mine is ruined if my coffee comes before my food (esp if it's cake) as I need to have it with or after what I've eaten.

JMSA · 04/03/2023 15:06

People who drop litter are utter scumbags, in my opinion.

MintJulia · 04/03/2023 15:06

Litter.

justhereforthecraic · 04/03/2023 15:08

People who don't read notices properly or even at all.
Door entry system is currently down at work... there is a decent sized bright yellow notice instructing visitors on what to do. 80% of these people have ignored said notice and moaned to me about how inconvenient/ridiculous it is.
However, If they read the notice, it makes life much easier. No Patience and apparently its my fault. My favourite task today has been pointing to the notice and watch them walk away in silence.

also, people who block shelves with their trolleys.

But why would the bin need to be food safe if it's for waste? You're not going to eat the food that's in your food bin surely?

RiverRock22 · 04/03/2023 15:27

When the carpark is virtually empty and someone parks right next to you.

Same on buses/trains.

MsFannySqueers · 04/03/2023 15:30

I was thinking the same thing @Macaronnotmacaroon .

GoodChat · 04/03/2023 15:31

Im glad you asked @Macaronnotmacaroon because I thought I was being thick

And cinema seats!

HowcanIgetoutofthisalive · 04/03/2023 15:32

Ah love a petty rage.
My current one is the fact my OH doesn't reverse park on the drive. I prefer to be able to drive straight off the drive because of (another petty rage), arseholes who park opposite my drive so its awkward to reverse out. Pain in the arse!!!

GoodChat · 04/03/2023 15:36

I've got another one... people who don't clear their tables when they've finished in fast food restaurants

lovemycbf · 04/03/2023 15:37

People who let their toddlers run about in shops that nearly trip me over then don't even apologise grrrr
