The people that park slap bang in the middle of a two car parking bay, meaning they have a half a car space in front and behind.

Selfish bastards!

Rainbow1901 · 04/03/2023 16:52

Parents who park up outside our house on the pavement - people parking is not a problem just not on the pavement!! and preferably not blocking our drive.
It's a small school for local children who should all be within walking distance of it surely?? It's even worse for the immediate local neighbourhood who have yellow clapboard notices put out by the school site supervisor only for them moved by the car drivers just so they can park their car and then put the sign back!!
So picture this - yellow sign - car - yellow sign - car etc. etc. etc. - sorry! not savvy enough to post a picture!!

When self service checkouts give you change, say 10p to 40p, in copper coins. Sainsbury’s is a particular culprit!

Oh yes! I had this a few weeks ago. I put the change in such a way that I'd get 10p back but the machine decided to give me all 2ps and 1ps. That was Sainsburys.

Humpf.

Much easier to use a card!

TwoLeftSocksWithHoles · 04/03/2023 16:43

Women at a supermarket checkout who poke around in their purse like a gynecologist, scrutinising each coin on both sides saying "I think I've got the exact money..."

Oh god yes!

Abitofalark · 04/03/2023 15:50

It's 'railway stations'. 'Train stations' is American.' Copying everything American is an annoyance.

To be fair, when I was 4, I used to say train station. I didn't think it is American, it's just easier to say. If it is an Americanism, it's one that offends me much less than people who say "can I get" in a cafe Grin

Ah yes my husband does this too! Why is it I wonder?

Mine does this too!

MissMogwai · 04/03/2023 17:01

People who type 'women' when they mean the singular 'woman'. Typically seen in rants on local Facebook groups.

Also people in the medium lane at the swimming baths, swimming so incredibly s l o w l y it's painful. Go in the fucking slow lane, it's there for you my friends.

ImAnExcavator · 04/03/2023 17:05

People that don't use merge in turns correctly. We have one have near us and instead of using both lanes prior to the merge, stay in the left lane and completely block a roundabout which causes traffic issues from all directions. This happens on a daily basis. Then if you use the right hand lane before the merge, the people in the left lane get super annoyed as though you've done somethig wrong and try to block you from merging! It's called a merge in turn, if everyone used both lanes correctly there wouldn't be an issue.

1vandal2 · 04/03/2023 17:07

They don't have 10ps and 50ps in the sainsburys self checkout change things. Just to save someone some faffing the next time.

Local council has given us all 2 caddies for food waste. Except they are not made from food safe plastic so we also have to buy biodegradable bags at £2 a pack.
Why the heck didn't they just buy bins made from food safe plastic?

Why do food WASTE bins have to be made of food safe plastic?
We use the biodegradable bags but that is to keep the caddy clean, make it easier to empty etc but anyway, the council provide our bags.

OhNoNotThatAgain · 04/03/2023 17:12

People who stop dead at the bottom of escalators.

Friends, who, when you drop round for a coffee and they ask how you like it, take 'fairly strong please, with milk' to mean coffee as weak as water but with hardly any milk in it.

RiverRock22 · 04/03/2023 15:27

When the carpark is virtually empty and someone parks right next to you.

Same on buses/trains.

My car broke down in a supermarket carpark, not long before they closed. Next morning DH came in his car with jump leads, and we arrived 5 min after the supermarket opened. Ideally he needed to park next to me. There were about 6 cars in the carpark,(of probably 100+ spaces) ..they parked next to mine!🙄

ImAvingOops · 04/03/2023 17:14

Print in magazines/packaging that is too similar to the background colour of the paper, so I can't read it!

People phoning me for a chat when I'm trying to do something or have just got in the bath. My phone does that annoying repeat notifications sound until I've read a sodding text!

My children and husband when they keep asking me what's for dinner - am fed up of thinking about it!

When I'm watching a programme and after the advert break, they recap the thing I just saw 15 minutes previously. I haven't forgotten already!

RalIy · 04/03/2023 17:15

People not having insurance for their pets and then their animals suffering when they cannot afford vet bills.

Doje · 04/03/2023 17:16

At my kids swimming lessons there are people reserving 'the best' changing cubicles. People just sat in them waiting but no frickin' kids! 😠

This escalated recently and there's also parents now reserving showers for when their kids come out! One parent had reserved TWO showers. When I asked if I could have one she just said 'I've got three kids to shower'. That may be the case, but right now you've got no bloody kids and I've got one right here that is cold and ready to shower.

There may be blood shed soon at that pool.... keep an eye on the news.

RalIy · 04/03/2023 17:16

Also, self righteous people who think they are somehow better than other people because they don’t read the Sun or the Daily Mail 🙄

But in fairness they are.

I pass a mum with 2 (junior school age ) children on my way to work most days. They are walking in the opposite direction to me. She holds their hands and they walk 3 abreast along the pavement. This means I have to walk on a muddy verge or in the road to pass them. I've no idea what she thinks will happen if they let go of hands for 10 seconds or walk in single file.

Just stand still and tie a shoelace, gaze intently at your phone, or rumage in your bag for a tissue or something. She will then have to go round you.

Spanish (the language)
Women who constantly flick their long hair with their long-nailed fingers
Screaming children
Waiters obsessed with putting ice cubes in my drink in the middle of winter
Those facially challenged Hadid girls
Cheeky cyclists
Revved up motorcycles (I will murder you in your sleep)
Harry Styles’s nostrils
Tom Holland (he looks like an arrogant little midget)

Anyone who writes or says “this is super quick” or “super clean” or super anything. Just No.

So many things. I have been a grumpy old woman since forever.

As you mentioned coffee I raise you the cafes who bring you a huge pot of tea with a teeny tiny pot of milk. And the cafes which don't tell you if it's table service or self-service.

The fact that our local postpeople have decided only to come down our road about 3 days a week.

A magazine I get has tiny print and huge photos even though I suspect the main demographic is middle aged and fit retired people (cycle magazine). So why not make the print bigger and the photos smaller so we don't all have to go looking for glasses/magnifying glasses?

And my perennial: people who park on pavements.

The tiny pots of milk!!
you get a pot to have more than one cup - it really annoys me!
im only 39 and I’m grumpier by the day!!!

On a restaurant/cafe theme ,how about when your food arrives and without barely taking a mouthful they ask you ‘everything ok’
honestly!!!

GoodChat · 04/03/2023 17:27

You do know you can turn that off, right?
Or put if on silent/do not disturb if you're busy.

N27 · 04/03/2023 17:28

People who have a face time or speaker phone conversation in an otherwise quiet waiting room. We do not all need to be part of your conversation!!!

I always prefer my drink after my food not with it but once I ordered soup and treacle tart and they brought the treacle tart first. When I complained the waitress said 'But you didn't say you wanted the soup first!'
