I actually really like turnips and other root veg so this is making me fancy a beef stew with all of the above in. Except we can't afford the beef really
And in fairness she has a point (I assume that's what she was driving at somehow, however utterly inappropriately she made it) that we should all be eating more seasonally. It shouldn't be the norm to be eating salad in February for all sorts of reasons.
That said we are used to having stuff on demand. Not everyone wants winter veg or likes it. Plus she fails to mention, or more likely probably doesn't know as I don't think she has ever been across a brief in her life, that we don't really even grow that much root veg here now anyway-it wasn't cost effective for the farmers, who weren't Helped by the government, and it's Labour intensive and very dependent on weather and soil. Most of them have switched to more lucrative wheat or animal food growing. If everyone suddenly actually did start eating Turnips there very quickly wouldn't be enough of them either.
The sooner we vote this bunch of Dolls heads out the better. I can't think of one thing that works well in this country at the moment. It shameful. And anyone who voted for them again is complicit in my book.
