I can't believe this is happening. This is so outrageous, I wonder how come people are not on the streets.

Here she is!

Odious woman. The sooner this lot are out, the better.

neverbeenskiing · 24/02/2023 16:41

She claims £200k a year expenses and gets to eat and drink in HoC bars and restaurants subsidised by the taxpayer, but the rest of us need to work harder and eat turnips. They are laughing at us. Again! Is it any wonder folk are striking?

LexMitior · 24/02/2023 16:43

Somebody votes for these people. Save your ire for them.

Teresa Coffey would be nowhere if people did not vote for her. You get the politicians you deserve.

TooBigForMyBoots · 24/02/2023 16:47

She's loads of super good advice for the workers of Britain.Smile Like when she told nurses they could leave the profession if they didn't like the pay and conditions.

Always4Brenner · 24/02/2023 16:47

ilovesooty · 24/02/2023 16:35

She is loathsome.

Don't forget that she also spent over 6K of taxpayers ' money having a balcony built outside her office during her brief tenure as Health Secretary, so that she didn't have to shift off her arse and walk outside the building to smoke.

😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮😮she’d be the first to tell others to walk lazy torry odious thing.

Completely agree. Looking forward to Coffey's rehabilitation on the Strictly Come Dancing stage this year. They'll probably have her dancing with Anton Du Beke, dressed as a turnip.

😅 oh dear god, what a thought!!!

AuntieEntity · 24/02/2023 16:56

Best get used to turnips, pretty soon there'll be fuck all else.

We were all warned. We have less resilience to shocks like the war, like the energy crisis, like climate change, like food shortages, when we are outside the protection of an economic union. Meh.

Bring back 2009, not 2019!

Indeed. And can we rewrite history so Clegg turns left instead of right in May 2010, please?

She got more than 56% of the vote in her constituency at the last GE. What were those voters thinking?

ShadowsShadowsShadows · 24/02/2023 19:36

She's our MP. I don't know how, everyone locally despises her but she keeps getting re-elected! 😡 She has done fuck all to help our constituency either.

Renoir56 · 24/02/2023 19:45

I've got no time for her at all and what she said is ridiculous. But is interesting to see how many people have lost sight of eating seasonal food. I saw a post recently where someone was moaning about the cost of groceries going up and mentioned things like raspberries and blueberries. These are fruits that we only used to see and eat in the summer months. Winter was cabbage, brussels sprouts, root veg. Summer was tomatoes, soft fruits, courgettes etc.

UthredofBattenberg · 24/02/2023 19:54

Come on now everyone. We are all in this together (except the government and their mates, they can get their tomatoes on expenses ) channel your inner Baldrick

She never looks short of food

She's been feasting on too many turnips that's why 🤣

SunshineOceanAndOranges · 24/02/2023 19:57

It's an absolute disgrace. Anyone who loves this country should be livid about what these entitled prats are doing to the UK.
I have tried not to worry too much about the consequences of brexit but honestly I cannot stand it anymore. A country at war like Ukraine for example deserves sympathy for the hardships it endures. But what's going on here, this constant self-sabotage, is rage inducing!

RobinRobinMouse · 24/02/2023 20:08

Maybe only turnips should be a taxable expense in parliament? It would be sensible really in order to save the taxpayer money.

Therese Coffrey reminds me of the Slitheen in Dr Who.

Really the Tories are laughably and unbelievably awful, I can't understand who on Earth votes for them. I keep thinking they can't get any worse and then, miraculously, they do.

PleaseJustText · 24/02/2023 20:15

I loved the suggestion of getting a promotion. Who is going to work the jobs below that and how will they afford to eat and pay bills?

JenniferBooth · 24/02/2023 20:38

Im sure housing associations will be over the moon when tenants start digging up the car parks to grow turnips
Stupid fucking bitch

😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂😂love it she certainly does.

MyLittlePonyWellies · 27/02/2023 09:59

She is appalling and her comments are completely tone deaf. There are full time workers who can't pay their bills and / or eat.

However, I also agree that salad in February shouldn't be the norm tbh and there are definitely people who choose to work less who could increase their hours. I'm one of them; going back to work soon (if I can find a job!) after working very part time and basically being a sahm for example.

hattie43 · 27/02/2023 10:00

Working to achieve what you need has been a necessity since forever . It's not a new idea as much as the left would like to Tory bash .

Zebedee55 · 27/02/2023 10:01

I wonder what we are supposed to eat to replace household energy:

Untitledsquatboulder · 27/02/2023 10:21

@Zebedee55 for that we have star jumps. Or perhaps huddling together for warmth in the turnip queue.
