Cosori are saying it’s not uk models at all.

so I’m not sure what to do, because mine is one of the models listed but obviously a uk one 🤷🏻‍♀️

I got mine from Amazon and people on my airfryer fb group have contacted Amazon and being told they can send it back for a refund.

but I like it and don’t want to if I don’t need to. But also don’t want a dangerous item.

So I’ve just spoken to Amazon and they said it’s not in the UK even though I have the UK Model CP158-AF. I’m worried as why would the exact same model with the same model number only decide to set on fire in those countries but not in the UK? I feel irresponsible keeping it as I’m on my own with 2 kids under 2. Mine also has as plastic smell when I use it I’ve only had it 4 days and used it twice and both times there’s been an over powering smell.

Maybe the wiring is different for different electrical systems/voltages in different countries 🤷🏻‍♀️

I've got a Cosori, but none of these model numbers so hoping it's fine! 🤷🏻‍♀️

We contacted Amazon as we bought one for a relative for Christmas. They said to unplug and not use immediately. They’ve sent a returns QR code and they’ll refund us when it’s back. (No idea where I’m going to find a box for it!)

When I go to the recall website, the UK isn't listed as an option... I bought it from Amazon, should I contact the seller?

Could be this. The UK's wiring is supposed to be the safest, I believe.. (though not sure, don't really understand electricals)

Amazon seem to be giving conflicted advice. I just did a webchat (mine is on the list of models) and they say UK models not affected by the recall. Yet others on this post are being offered a return. I have had it for over a year and I love it but it has now made me concerned!

This is what Amazon have just emailed me after I called their customer services...

Hello,

Thank you for contacting us today!

We check and saw on the news that the product on recall are sold in US, Canada and Mexico only.

Cosori did not include product sold in the UK. We are now communicating it with the manufacturer
and we will email you for an update in case the item sold in UK will be included on the recall
I would suggest for you to not use the item for a meantime and wait for an update on the next 24-48 hours.

I bought mine in October 2020 from Amazon. I've just done a webchat and apparently it hasn't been recalled and I would get an email from Amazon if it was. It is on the list but all of the recalls have been in US, Canada & Mexico so far so perhaps UK models aren't affected?

@JenniferBooth I've unplugged it and will see what transpires over the next few days. Surely if there is an issue with the UK models they'll recall them pretty sharpish?!

The first one is the one my friend owns Hes unplugged it from the wall. Being someone with mobility issues he would not exactly be able to move quickly (waiting for a knee op) so just too risky

bought 1 at Xmas and just contacted Amazon , they said only US, Canada & Mexico models recalled.

Friends sister has phoned amazon and they said they knew there was a problem and that they they would be sent a letter through the post saying you can have a replacement or your money back. Friend has CP158-AF and is in the UK so there seems to be conflicting advice

Yeah this is so annoying as I literally rang them at 3pm and the woman said unless you receive an email from Amazon to say it needs recalled then no need to worry.

I said are you sure as I don’t believe that the exact same model number that is settling a light in these countries won’t set alight in the UK it’s the same batch. She just repeated herself.

I feel like I’m going to return mine. I’ve only had if 4 days and I complained already that I could smell burning plastic the 2 times I’ve used it so I’ll just have to return it and get my monies back. I’m gutted. I just wish Amazon would do it as a recall and send me a replacement rather than me have to go through all this.
