I always like the idea of having lots of interesting hobbies, but have the usual time/ money constraints. Inspire me with your interesting hobbies ?

Crochet, reading, gym, very novice photography.

I'd love to do fell/hill walking but the lack of hills/fells and lack of time to travel there prevents it.

I'm a bit of a geek with my job, but I am interested in the history of it, my global counterparts, the differences in approaches, the broader issues surrounding the things I deal with, etc. I suppose I'm one of a few who give a shite and care, or so it seems sometimes!

I love walking and being out in nature which is free. Also love wildlife and nature photography. You don't have to own a fancy camera. You can just use the one on your own.

Also like baking and crafts.

I have so many hobbies. I tend towards active pursuits. Currently:

reformer pilates
piano
yoga
ecstatic dance
Japanese taiko drumming
gardening
cooking

Other hobbies I love but don’t currently have much time for:

flamenco dance
belly dance
tai chi
cycling

I have a full-on job but honestly, if I could give up work and just potter around dancing and cooking and growing stuff I’d be totally happy.

Watching TV

I wish I had more time for it all.

I have pen friends too, but about 20, not two ! I love it and getting chatty letters through the post, often on gorgeous stationery and I find writing letters therapeutic.

I also love reading, so must check out 50 bookers !

Also, watching movies either at the cinema or home, and going on excursions

BigFatLiar · 11/02/2023 20:04

Not sure if you can really class it as a hobby but I like to travel, we both do but DH doesn't like hot places so I often travel solo (I go to Africa/Asia etc he goes to the British seaside).

Whoneedsleep · 11/02/2023 20:06

Horses were my number one love! Family/small DC and finances has ruined that though and I can no longer own them.

I have dogs now instead. They are my little escape from the monotony of everyday life! I’ve competed and shown them but walking them keeps me sane.

Running and anything to do with running

AlanisInMorissons · 11/02/2023 20:09

Gardening, golf, yoga, swimming (incl outdoor) are the things I do the most really.

Jewellery making
creative writing
reading

these are my hobbies when I have the time and energy to do them. I think I might set some specific time aside a week for these as my hobbies make me happy, they’ve fallen by the wayside recently due to time constraints.

I would also love to develop skills in crochet. Some of the crochet pieces I’ve seen are outstanding.

I would love to try mudlarking as well. I don't really count it as a hobby, but I love visiting the beach and looking for fossils and interesting pebbles, shells etc, or looking for feathers in the woods, so I like finding things and mudlarking seems the ultimate in finding things!

Also need to add photography to my list.

Phos · 11/02/2023 21:04

They're not really interesting but reading, drawing, making birthday cakes (with all the sugar craft and stuff, I do birthday cakes for kids who may not get one otherwise, through a charity) and ice skating.

Festivfrenzy · 11/02/2023 21:30

I love reading these. People are fascinating! I've got kids age 10&8 so still busy with them but definitely starting to get some time back for myself which is brilliant.
I got a sewing machine last year and did curtains, planning cushions and hopefully some charity shop clothes alterations one day.
Love interior planning - spend ages researching the most gorgeous cheapest way of doing stuff without waste/chemicals where poss.
Upcycling furniture- made a small double basin bathroom vanity last year.
Languages- currently starting to revive long forgotten German GCSE - Coffee Break podcasts are brilliant.
Gardening - favourite kind is drastic cutting back /planting etc - DH does lawn mowing and leaf sweeping.
