Anyone win big on People's Postcode Lottery?

Just as the title says. Has anyone won big on The People's Postcode Lottery? I've been in it for years and only won a few £10 prizes. The last one was May '21. If I don't win one soon I'm stopping as I'd rather treat myself to a takeaway once a month! Winner winner chicken dinner.

The area next to me is incredibly lucky, I know someone who won 250k, then it seemed that every 6 weeks I heard amounts of 2k, 650 mentioned.I’ve never got beyond a tenner and that seems to have been a good while ago.

Well they won't be giving £1000's to everyone who signs up to it will they?

I won a tenner once, about standard for these kinds of things. I don't expect to win. The way I see it, it's just another way of giving to charity, it will be a huge bonus if I win but I don't assume I will. Most people don't, like in any lottery.

I won £3747 back in 2010. I had 1 ticket (gutted that I had not long cancelled my 2nd ticket, but hey ho).

At that time, we got a phone call to say we won and an invitation to attend a celebration event in the town.

If you presented yourself to the organisers, you got a big cheque like you see on the TV. The main winners didn't know they had won but had been ushered to the side of the stage and they did a big reveal of the main winning postcode. I believe the family had 2 tickets and went home with approx £800K.

I don't think they do that now though.

Was this a town in Scotland by any chance?

FIL won £30k last summer. Went out and bought himself his dream sports car.

The village where my late mum lived had a win. Unfortunately she wasn't in it, but her best friend was able to buy a new (second hand) car with the winnings. It came at absolutely the right time as her old one was on its last legs.

We won over £2,800 in 2019 and have had several smaller wins too. We also won £120 with Pick my Postcode just a few weeks ago.

I won £1000 a few years ago. It was the first month I signed up. Since then I’ve won a few £10. I’ve paid them more than £1000 now 😂

Oh dear so it looks like I'm living up to being the unluckiest person ever! Figures! I don't even win on the tombola at the school Christmas fete Grin.
Might just have to cut my losses, at least if anyone else is in my postcode they are bound to win as soon as I pull out!

DP's mum was quite angry about never having won a penny on the Postcode Lottery.

She didn't realise you have to buy a ticket.

I actually thought it was a scam- until a friend won £30,000!!! They almost didn’t because she kept buttoning their calls 🤣🤣🤣🤣

We win £10 every now and again. A council estate (quite rough) near where my parents live won £80,000 each and lost their benefits, vast majority of them drank and smoked their way through the winnings until their savings were low enough to claim again. 2 got out of the estate and bought houses which was amazing for them (you can get houses very cheaply round that area so it almost covered the whole cost).
