I've just found out I'm getting an unexpected £900😁
What would you do with it?

Cloud 9 hair straighteners.

Sceptre86 · 01/02/2023 23:04

I'd do a few weekends away.

MegBusset · 01/02/2023 23:04

I’d probably put half in savings and spend the other half on a weekend away.

Overthebow · 01/02/2023 23:05

Half into savings/mortgage, half on spa weekend.

CherrySocks · 01/02/2023 23:05

I'd put it in the bank. I suppose I'm very boring.
But then it would be there for emergencies
eg astronomical unexpected dental bills.

butterfliedtwo · 01/02/2023 23:06

Pay bills.

antipodeancanary · 01/02/2023 23:06

How much savings do you have?

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/02/2023 23:07

I'd buy myself a massive treat I couldn't otherwise afford, in this case designer boots

EineReiseDurchDieZeit · 01/02/2023 23:08

That is if it was over and above monthly outgoings

mondaytosunday · 01/02/2023 23:09

Pay bills. It's not enough to do much with and after just paying my taxes it will disappear readily enough.

Hawkins002 · 01/02/2023 23:09

Start a eBay business

ThisGirlNever · 01/02/2023 23:13

Do you stay have savings, if not it's probably because you see windfalls as an opportunity to spend.

What would you do if somebody have you a tenner?
What about £100
£1000?
£10k?
£100k?
£million?

If you don't save £100, you're never going to have £1k, let alone £10k or £100k.

That's the way I tend to think about saving.

coodawoodashooda · 01/02/2023 23:15

I'd save it.

trythisforsize · 01/02/2023 23:18

Bank it in a high interest account till theres something worth spending it on. I think I'd save it to do a couple of good kids birthdays and Christmas 2023.

Saracen · 01/02/2023 23:19

Put into savings, unless I already had a good bit of savings squirreled away. It is a nice amount. If you are able to lock it away for a while, you can get very attractive interest rates these days.

Grimchmas · 01/02/2023 23:22

Invest £800, £100 for treats!

FlamingoCroquet · 01/02/2023 23:23

Buy a really good electric bike!

Olidora · 01/02/2023 23:23

Spend it on myself..enjoy!

CocktailOnion2 · 01/02/2023 23:29

Is it this year's cost of living payments? If so its coming in parts over the year, so bills & cost of living ??

If you've had a win at bingo & dont need to use it to budget with, perhaps a city break.

Frogsinspace · 01/02/2023 23:37

I saw a pink Alexander McQueen skirt today for £860 and I fell in love at first sight. I will always have something that needs the money more but if I didn’t, that skirt would be mine

Teaandtoast3 · 01/02/2023 23:40

On a plane out of here

ConsuelaHammock · 01/02/2023 23:42

I’d put it in the bank. I don’t need anything and I prefer to have money for when I do need /want something.

maddy68 · 01/02/2023 23:52

Little break somewhere

ForeverWeBlend · 01/02/2023 23:54

I'd just enjoy day dreaming about the treats I could have if I wanted to....

What a load of patronising wank.

Saving £100 from a £900 windfall doesn’t make you likely to get to six figure savings. Unless you were always getting £900 windfalls.

God some people really take the fun out of life
