There are social tariffs for broadband and water if your on some benefits.
If you have Plantar Facilitis a Cortisone injection can be given free at the doctors and helps relieve the pain.
Tell us something we might not know that can help us?

Hairspray is brilliant for removing biro stains.

buy double length toilet rolls - used to be only Cushelle (or very cheap smartprice ones available) but Asda and Sainsbury's now do decent ones.

I've tried the sainsburys ones. Although labelled up as the same type - Super Soft - the double rolls are nowhere near as soft as the standard length. If that matters to you.

I don't have time to read all 18 pages, so I apologise if this has already been posted.

If you accidentally write on a whiteboard with permanent marker - scribble over the writing with your whiteboard marker. It will then clean off easily.

Still on the subject of paywalls, if the paywall works on the basis that you have a number of free articles per month and you have used up, the quota access that site from another device like your work laptop or dp/dc's phone. The free articles are per device so you can rotate around.

Or just use the same device in incognito mode

If it's white, Good Night.

If it's pink, pause the drink.

Save money on expensive binoculars by simply moving nearer to what you want to look at

How some people don’t know some of these is really quite shocking.

Or people do and posters are teaching the masses to suck eggs

You knew that eating a polar bears lover gives you a fatal vitamin overdose AND that washing powder cleans the brains off sculls?

vera99 · 21/01/2023 04:59

On bonfire night don't buy fireworks thus saving money, the environment and animals welfare.

If you see white vinegar at Tescos for 27p a bottle buy 10 of them because it's good for so many things and won't be cheaper. I did that last September it's now 29p but still a bargain. Thats a 7.5% ROI over 3 months which represents if annualized 30% uplift. No bank will give you anything near that.

katscamel · 21/01/2023 05:08

Don't read this thread if you need to be doing other things (apart from avoiding bears)...

And never smile at a crocodile....

Surely trying to scrape the melted chocolate out of the wrapper is more hassle than a Bain Marie?!

i saw this was an unsafe way of doing it due to partialy melted plastic going into the chocolate?and some wrapper will actively melt into the hot water so it does depend on how hot you have the water.after the video went viral it came into lots of trouble

Rubbing a pencil up and down a zip loosens it.

Righty righty / lefty loosey for remembering which way to turn something.

Use the green pin option in Microsoft for quick access to frequently used files.

Taking a dump on your car and pulling a windscreen wiper off is an excellent way to fool your neighbours into thinking you’ve been to a safari park. (Viz)

GemmaFoster · 21/01/2023 05:45

Righty / Tighty I mean.

*school is not compulsory.
they legally dont have to go to school if you dont want them to.

the world of home education exists(no its not home schooling that's a completely opposite style) and no you dont get professionals checking up on your every move and you dont have to do school at home or follow lessons and books

millions follow the unschooling route with out any input from anyone as with home ed your child's education is down to you

they are not sat at home isolated, not mixing with other kids or learning nothing. theres so much to learn in the world and so much info on goggle and hundreds of meet up groups
.so many peoples view on home ed is this, we are never in

im saying this as home educating family since 2015 and a runner of a home ed group/meet up

ive come across hundreds in person and online that have sent their kids in at 3(also on that note if you do, do school the compulsory school age is the term after they turn 5) because they think they have to and kids have struggled so much to the point of trauma and breakdowns and the parent thought they had to put up with it because they have no choice.

the amount of people that have either said to me or ive read "if i knew home ed existed my kid would never have gone in to the system"

the way the{broken} system is set up mainstream school doesn't work for 99% of kids with disabilities

another one is health visitors are optional, you dont have to put up with one if you dont want one*

That ones also a really top tip for anyone looking to abuse or do away with their kids. Means absolutely no eyes on the kids outside of the household and this is exactly how a lot of people get away with a lot of stuff. So, while benefiting perpetrators, not sure it’s a tip that works out so well for many kids.

You knew that eating a polar bears lover gives you a fatal vitamin overdose AND that washing powder cleans the brains off sculls?

Safety tip: when eating a polar bear's lover, make sure the polar bear is nowhere near.

Does washing powder work on normal sized oars as well? If I'm using an oar to bash in a polar bears head, I want it to be much longer than a scull tbh...

Nannamia · 21/01/2023 06:04

If you're buried alive in an avalanche and don't know which way is up, dribble out of the side of your mouth. The dribble will flow downwards, so you'll know to start digging in the opposite direction to reach the surface. I read this in a comic when I was a kid so it must be true 😂

Delorestormborn · 21/01/2023 06:12

You can unblock sinks and showers with a plunger you don't need to buy harmful chemicals to pour down. I have a plunger I just use for that.

HoppingPavlova · 21/01/2023 06:12

We’ve always used shared things when people are the same size. So instead of having to put a dab of colour to tell whose black socks are whose for example, if we have several boys/men of same shoe size they just use the same socks, get 12 pairs and they 3 each but they don’t need exactly the same pairs back after washing. We’ve done the same for undies, bedding, and whenever people choose the same clothes and are the same size (for example I have two who both wanted the same adidas sweatpants and are the same size). If you actually wash so the clothes are clean there is no need to muck around differentiating whose undies/socks/clothes/bedding are whose with a wacky system. You don’t get brand new personalised sheets in a hospital, you get the lot the last person had that have been laundered appropriately to get rid of dirt and germs. Unless you are failing in the laundry department at home it’s no different.

Also as someone said up thread, put any shirt/dress that hangs in a closet on their hanger and out on the line. I peg the hooks into place on the line appropriately spaced or they just slide down and all bunch together. This way they dry on their hangers and you just put them in the closets straight from the line.

Use the water from your condenser dryer in your steam iron / cleaner as it won’t produce scale. Also preferred by houseplants.
