If you have Plantar Facilitis a Cortisone injection can be given free at the doctors and helps relieve the pain.

Any uni tips? On how to pick a good uni with uni mates?

Just trying my luck, I think learning about bears ought to be easier :P

Two criteria

  1. Do you want to be near home (say, up to two hours travelling time) or further away?
  2. Do you want to be campus-based (out of town) or city-based?

Once you’ve answered both these you will have a greatly reduced list of universities to choose from. Most will offer an appropriate course for you.

After a breast cancer diagnosis many women suffer terribly from vaginal atrophy due to having to take Tamoxifen or aromatase inhibitors. The symptoms of VA can be dreadful and life changing. But you can use local estrogen cream to reverse and cure the VA. A year's worth of correctly applied local estrogen is still only the equivalent of taking just ONE tablet of oral HRT.

So many women don't know this and suffer unnecessarily.

I'm just here for the bear tips.

You mean the bear necessities?

😀

If you’re in a car accident with car seats in the car (even minor accidents, or with no child in the car at the time) let your insurers know. A lot of insurers will give you a payment to replace the seats, as they’re not safe to use again if they’ve been in any impact.

The best way to clean a white composite sink is filling it with hot water and a scoop full of Vanish/ other whitening crystals. Leave it for an hour and wipe down - gets rid of all of those brown stains.

Bright colours attracted bears so a better approach for going into the wilderness is to just choose how you'd like to die - exposure after getting hopelessly lost or bear attack?

My tip is to make a will before going hiking.

Also if you sign up for anything then put the company name as your middle name, e.g., Jane Amazon Smith or Susan Tesco Brown. Then if you start getting marketing calls or junk mail you will know exactly which company sold your info.

I did the change name thing I am a dr but never use the honorific, I started by using dr cos I'm entitled to, then transferred to lady, lord, cllr, etc. Made it easy to see who was selling my name on.

And if you kill it and save your own life, there'll still have to be an inquisition....that's for the polar bear, not you.

Again channel hopping - which I don't do anywhere near as much as I used to due to digital services - I saw a case of hunters getting into trouble because there has been some interbreeding between polar and grizzly and depending on DNA and determining what kind of bear they potentially faced a fine.

You probably know this but always worth a share.
If you have any concerns about a bf - yours or someone else’s then use Clare’s Law to see if the bf has a history of violence against women. Local police webpage for form.

This saved my mum’s life a couple of years ago.

@TheRedLip that's only true for tamoxifen. Vaginal oestrogen should not be given to anyone who is taking an Aromatase inhibitor.

There are three things you never turn your back on: bears, men you have wronged, and a dominant male turkey during mating season.

Did I miss the snake advice?

Red Touch Yellow - Kills a Fellow
Red Touch Black - Venom Lack
Yellow Touches Red - Soon You'll Be Dead
Red Touches Black - Friend of Jack

Oh, and you can’t live off rabbit meat alone - you’d get protein poisoning.

If you have to handwash anything that is very greasy e.g. oven trays that are too big for the dishwasher, it helps to wipe as much of the grease off with a tissue as possible. Then dispose of the greasy tissue in the food disposal bin. That way, you don't have waste lots of hot water splashing around in the sink and outside to get the grease off, creating even more mess.

If you have to clean a conventional oven by yourself (as opposed to paying someone £40+ for a professional clean), Oven Pride is cheap as chips and does the job.

Kilrock Spirit of Salts will clean any brown limescale stains from your toilet bowl no matter how thick and the bowl comes up shiny like new. It is a miracle but very strong. Be careful!

There are ways of climbing over paywalls. Does not always work but worth a hack.

If your arse hurts after lying on the sofa watching tv for too long, simply roll over onto your front and continue watching.

The first one to make me genuinely lol 😂😂👌

blueshoes · 20/01/2023 22:16

Still on the subject of paywalls, if the paywall works on the basis that you have a number of free articles per month and you have used up, the quota access that site from another device like your work laptop or dp/dc's phone. The free articles are per device so you can rotate around.

My kids are what I call 'messy sleepers' I do not know how they managed to always get the duvet in such a mess that it needs shaken back to position every day.

Simple solution and fixed my frustration was to stitch a small length of ribbon to the duvet corners and to the inside top corners of the duvet cover and tie them together when changing their bedding.

Makes life so much easier as the duvet stays put!

I normally use the annoying ribbons that come on tops.

Amazing! Thank you very much.

WD40? White spirit?

I use alcohol hand sanitiser for my sticky residue.

Nail polish remover also works very well

If you have more than one child buy each child wrapping paper with a different pattern. So three kids you might go with: child 1 - red with silver stars, child 2- Elsa xmas, child 3- white with penguins. Then you can just wrap each child's presents in 'their' paper and you won't need to do any labels/tags!

To add to this, buy Costco wrapping paper. It’s double sided designs but you don’t have to muck around with several rolls , good quality and last ages too

If you think you're being followed in the car there's 2 hacks to test the theory.

In a town or built up area. Make 4 right or left turns to do a loop. If they're still behind you drive to a local police station or busy place such as a pub or takeaway and call for help.

On a dual carraigeway or motorway, drive 10mph under the speed limit, almost everyone will go round. Next junction, come off and get straight back onto the same section. If they follow, try it again and call into the next service station or call for help.
