To ask how much you pay for a simple cut and blow dry?

Just wondering what the average is across the country.

My hairdresser was £35 for a cut and blow dry just before Covid. No restyle etc, just trim / tidy.

Now it's £55. I appreciate everything has gone up across the board and that we live in a fairly cheap area but that's a 57% increase in 3 years!

£25 one woman business. Over 60s discounted a bit. She cuts it just right, lots of loyal customers, Inc me for 15 years. Yorkshire.

Marmite27 · 15/01/2023 12:31

£45 yesterday.

GherkOut · 15/01/2023 12:32

£47 Oxford, so I give the stylist £50 so as not to appear mean
I think it's too much...

LakieLady · 15/01/2023 12:32

£18 (very untrendy salon in a small Sussex town).

Toomanylaughterlines · 15/01/2023 12:33

I paid £47.50 yesterday (south coast)

GoAgainstNicki · 15/01/2023 12:34

£25 - afro carribean hairdressers in zone 2 London

Ladyincrimson · 15/01/2023 12:34

£35

DaisyCornflowerBlue · 15/01/2023 12:36

£50 zone 3 south London but she's the cheapest (and best!!) that I've found.

LindaEllen · 15/01/2023 12:36

I used to pay £55 for mine. There isn't a huge amount of choice with salons where I live, no cheap options. There used to be a SuperCuts which I went to, but that closed down a few years ago.

Over lockdown I learned to cut and colour my own hair, which I've done ever since. So now I spend £5 on my hair every couple of months (yeah, I always leave my roots slightly longer than I should!) and job's a goodun.

To be fair I have a very simple, straight style. I can understand not all hairstyles are as easy to do yourself!

£25 in the southwest. One of those cheap “Everything £19” places. Blow dry was extra

Prices really should be much cheaper actually...you are tripping over salons in my area. I have no idea why competition isn't bringing it down.

inloveandmarried · 15/01/2023 12:43

My hairdresser went up to £60 (south west) so I found a less expensive hairdresser. I pay £32 now and I'm very pleased.

Want2beme · 15/01/2023 12:45

€35, (£31), WCB, small town, rural Ireland. Price hasn't changed since covid, and she only takes cash. Does exactly as you ask, doesn't keep you waiting, as she doesn't overbook.

I used to pay £60 when I lived in West London, many moons ago!

DuplicateUserName · 15/01/2023 12:46

Got mine done last week.

£30 - London

Augustone · 15/01/2023 12:48

Wash, trim and blow dry £25. Lancashire

MrsR87 · 15/01/2023 12:48

£29 in Derbyshire and she always does a great job. Just as good as the haircuts I used to pay £60 for (a few years ago) in a big brand salon!

Sunnyshoeshine · 15/01/2023 12:53

SW London - my hairdresser has gone up from £85 to £105 for a cut and blow dry so as much as i enjoy the experience of a salon, I'm switching to a mobile hairdresser for £45 instead.

FallonofDynasty · 15/01/2023 12:54

£25 for a wet cut in the SE. This was in an out of town salon . Would be £38 for a cut and blow dry.

Notplayingball · 15/01/2023 12:55

£40

Toddlerteaplease · 15/01/2023 12:55

£25-35 depending where I go to.

minticecreamisjustok · 15/01/2023 12:57

£41 SE out of town salon, not posh but very busy

PuppyMonkey · 15/01/2023 12:57

£42 at the poshest salon in my nearest not very posh town in Derbyshire.

walkersareback · 15/01/2023 13:15

£75 but annoyingly £60 for my husband - same stylist

4thtimeunlucky · 15/01/2023 13:23

£55-65 seems the going rate where I live (South east)
I had a home cut about 4 or 5 years ago and that was 45, and I had to wash and conditions my hair first anyway.

FinallyHere · 15/01/2023 13:36

£30 Small salon in tourist trap Windsor. Lasts me all week.

Haven't washed my hair at home since ohh lockdown restrictions lifted.
