I absolutely love finding a bargain. It gives me the hugest dopamine hit.

I think I've had my biggest ever bargain this week and I am absolutely over the moon.

I found an £8000 Selva furniture set on sideboard, bookcase and display cabinet on Facebook market place. The pieces are only a couple of years old.

It is all handmade in Italy and I cannot believe I managed to purchase it all for £600. I haven't stopped grinning since I picked it all up yesterday. It is the most beautiful furniture I have ever seen in my life.

Other bargains that have given me huge highs are

Immaculate Teak outdoor dining table and benches for £50 on eBay

Huge Loaf wodge velvet sofa was £4500 and found one for £600 at trade secret

I would absolutely love to know the mega special bargains you have found. Bargain sporn? I'm hoping I can get some second hand dopamine from your finds

John Rocha t-shirt for 39p in Debenhams around 1997.

Mary Quant t-shirt, €1.50 in Salvation Army, 1994. God I loved that top!

My dog, €50.

A full set of Le Crueset pans, with lids, in great condition, £5 in a charity shop!

harrassedmumto3 · 13/01/2023 00:04

It could be my Habitat Radius dining set. Solid oak table with bench and 4 chairs for £120 (Gumtree).
I swear, an elephant could stand on that table and it would remain intact.

I got a Hermès silk scarf in a charity shop for £1.99.

browlow · 13/01/2023 00:14

a full canteen of vintage bamboo handled cutlery for £20

A set of 2 Samsonite brand new suitcases I bought at an auction house for £38. When I put them in the car they felt heavier than I was expecting, opening them up there was a matching trolley bag case inside each of the larger cases. I googled the cases and couldn't believe that my 4 beautiful new cases that I paid £38 for should have cost well over £500!

Mine was literally yesterday! An absolutely gorgeous, one of a kind, leather handbag for $30 instead of $500. The store wasn't even supposed to be open but they were remodeling as it's out of season and figured they'd put the open sign up while they were all there. DD and I were their only customers and we totally lucked out! We also got 5 pairs of $200 earrings for $100 all in. I felt like I'd won the lottery.

Reiss coat in a Charity shop for £30, it's currently £328 online.

Namechangefail1234 · 13/01/2023 00:42

A quinny pram, it was hundreds of pounds and I'd saved hard for it for my daughter.
I got to the till, Massive grin on my face- I was skint so it felt like a proper achievement.

They scanned it, scanned at £37.50. Even skint I was too honest, and I started saying, no, that's not right. No, it should be a lot more than that.

The lady at the till just kept telling me, that's what it's scanning as.
I still can't believe my luck, 14 years or so on!

I bought a new silk velvet opera coat from a boutique having a closing down sale for £8! It gets compliments every time I wear it, looks vintage or designer as it is so well cut but is new and unknown brand, fits like a glove, makes me look a size smaller than I am and the nearest thing I can find to it these days as I want one in another colour, is the Nancy Mac coat at £300. Every time I wear it, I think, £8? Really?

Wow!

Unworn, still had the tags on See by Chloe flared jeans for £15 at a second hand sale in Harrogate. They are fabulous - slightly long but that just means I wear them with my high platforms or wedge heels. I do feel amazing in them. Also at the same sale - a vintage Aquascutum trench coat for £30! Two absolute bargains for under £50!

Marmaladesarnie · 13/01/2023 00:53

My wedding dress, I saw it on a wedding blog and fell in love so contacted the designer and she said dresses started at £2k plus petticoat and lace overlay were extras (10 years ago so way over budget)
I explained it was more than I budgeted and she said” ok, shall I put you in the list for sample sales.” She took my measurements and phone number.

a week later the exact dress, in almost my exact size (a 16 so not sample size!) was available for £500 including petticoat and lace.

I traveled 4 hours the next day to get it and it was perfect!

Four winters ago I found my lovely navy curly fur (fake!) short coat in a charity shop for £7.50 and I'm still wearing it. Many a charity shop bargain since then but I still love my coat.

My holiday to the albatross hotel in egypt, sharm el sheikh should've been around a thousand and I've got it on a last minute holiday deal for just under 600!

toddyhum · 13/01/2023 21:10

Absolutely obsessed with all of these. I'm definitely getting a second hand bargain not from them all. The £1.99 Hermes scarf is just incredible. What a find!!!!

Full set of Morris & co bedding for £25. Would normally be about £75 for the duvet cover alone.

IbizaToTheNorfolkBroads · 13/01/2023 21:17

Kenwood Chef and all the accessories - £20 from local charity shop. All in perfect condition. A month later we locked down - it saw a lot of action that spring!

Quisquam · 13/01/2023 21:19

i wonder if you got mine? 😀 I found mine in a charity shop, used them for a few years, and then donated them back to a different charity shop still in good condition.

JenniferAllisonPhillipaSue · 13/01/2023 21:33

Nothing as expensive or valuable as most of you; but I did bag some bargain kitchen knives in a chain supermarket about ten years ago when they were mis-priced as the discount (£2 each) rather than the discounted price (£12-18 each reduced to £10-16 each). Let nothing be said about the chocolate oranges that I bagged at 36p each due to overlapping offers ...

ODFOx · 13/01/2023 21:33

My kitchen.
Second hand on ebay. I couldn't believe my luck. It's a Rotpunkt German handleless kitchen and included 2 Siemens ovens (1 a combo microwave), integrated Bosch dishwasher, washer dryer and fridge freezer, neff hob, catering style steel sink. Even with paying for it to be removed, van hire, storage and fitting it still cost less than one of the ovens would have done new.
