Is now code for' the op had their srses hsnded to them and couldn't cope'?
There are SO MANY threads being deleted. I've just clicked on 'threads I'm on' and three have been deleted.

Agreed. It's pandering by MNHQ, and insulting to all of us who bother to engage. Don't start a thread if you don't want people's answers (note: you might not like them all!). There was nothing at all concerning about the thread in question. It makes me increasingly less likely to answer anything on here. Why should I waste my time if MNHQ are just going to erase it all on a whim

Or the OP has ‘real life concerns’. Yes because your husband who plays golf every other Saturday is really outing.

Yes, it annoys me big time. I know that the gutter press pick up on threads here but as my Grandmother said don't put anything online that you would not put on a billboard in the City Centre.

I had a thread deleted for that reason once, but I'd never asked. "Well meaning" posters were saying I'd revealed too much (I hadn't because as I imagine most do, I'd changed some details) and it went poof without me saying anything. The message read like it was me who'd asked though.

Oh yeah I remember that thread...I think it has disappeared .

I've lost count of the number of threads I open and absolutely do not believe the OP....or think its going to end badly. For example all of the 'I cant afford to heat my house" threads.

And yes, I agree, the number of deletions is increasing which is very frustrating for those who take the time and bother to post

YANBU, it also seems to be very inconsistently carried out.

When posters have had their posts put in the tabloids and ask for them to be removed MN refuse, saying you know the risks when posting, yet many seem to be removed for very odd reasons.

One a few days ago on chat was removed because the replies were upsetting the OP, no comments were removed, or too harsh, and it was about moving house with 2 kids who didn’t like the new home so hardly a dramatic post either.

Yet a poster on AIBU was actually doxxed and MN refused to pull the thread. A small detail in their post led someone to find them on FB and post a link to their personal FB account on here and they got lots of hate on there.

Yep. And yet when I’ve requested for threads I’ve posted before to be deleted they’ve said no. They pick and choose.

Either let people delete their own threads as they choose or make them all stay.

Wow, is that really true? That's beyond unacceptable and should not only be deleted but whoever did the doxxing should be banned automatically. You would think MNHQ, of all places, would be sensitive to the personal fallout that comes from being doxxed.
