DH poured water from his tooth mug into the kettle.

Just this. I saw him do it. He cleans his teeth in the kitchen (arggh). He had done his teeth and still had some water in his tooth mug, so as not to waste it, he took the lid off the kettle and poured the water in. That would have been in my fucking cup of tea in the morning if I had not seen it happen (or our visitors first coffee). I emptied and washed the kettle and told him that it was the most disgusting thing I had seen for a long time. I said I was going to get a second kettle purely for my use. He promised never to do it again, but what worries me, is what other horrible things he secretly get up to.

That's absolutely gross. What is a tooth mug?

Afterfire · 28/12/2022 18:01

Peppermint tea 🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️🤷‍♀️😆😆😆🤢🤢🤢🤢

Stressedmum2017 · 28/12/2022 18:02

Wtf is a toothmug??

Always4Brenner · 28/12/2022 18:02

What🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮🤮 I do my teeth in bathroom.

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 28/12/2022 18:02

For DH it is a plastic mug that he uses to rinse his mouth when cleaning his teeth. I would hate to tell you any further details.

That is positively disgusting and I’m glad you told him so.

SlouchingTowardsBethlehemAgain · 28/12/2022 18:03

He has just made dinner, so I am going to eat - God knows what he has put in it.

The whole thing is bizarre. Brushing his teeth in the kitchen and using a "tooth mug" is weird enough before you even get to the rest of the story.

YellowRedBlueGreen · 28/12/2022 18:05

Absolutely fucking rancid. What the fuck is wrong with him? No sex for a year.

RichardsGear · 28/12/2022 18:06

Well yes, it's not great but I'm assuming it's not water he's rinsed around his mouth and spat back into the cup?! It's water he's taken a mouthful from then spat into the sink?

ThinWomansBrain · 28/12/2022 18:07

that is vile - I'd have emptied the kettle, got the descaler out. So about three kettles of boiled water because of the half beaker he'd wanted to 'save'.
Cleaning his teeth in the kitchen is pretty gross.
I was unwell over the break and using a saline mouthwash regularly through the break - no way would I have dreamt of doing that in the kitchen, even though that was where I was preparing the mouth wash,

jetadore · 28/12/2022 18:08

Could be worse, at least it wasn’t his penis breaker

He's likely jizzed in it.

Vile brute!

Tiani4 · 28/12/2022 18:09

Ewww
Just tell DH that MNers think he's ewwwww!!! He mustn't do that as it's gross and icky

neverknowinglyunreasonable · 28/12/2022 18:09

WHERE IS HE EMPTYING THE PENIS BEAKER?

This, I hope!

LondonSouth28 · 28/12/2022 18:11

Oh that's grosse. I'd be asking for a review of all of his hygiene habits to ensure there isn't other weird stuff going on.

orangegato · 28/12/2022 18:12

Run, don’t walk.

NamelessTemptress01 · 28/12/2022 18:13

You’re not supposed to rinse toothpaste off with water

Myfinalthoughtsonthisissue · 28/12/2022 18:14

Years ago I got chatting to a friend who'd just moved in with her partner. I was over at theirs and having just popped to the loo, came back to sit at the table and finish my cup of tea. How's it all going, I asked (meaning how they were settling into living together) and she said it was going well but she'd discovered he was a bit of a clean freak and after every loo visit, he washed 'down there' and used the hand towels to dry himself off. Suddenly twigging that I'd just been to that loo, she blushed and said 'oh, but I changed the towel before you came'.

Righto!

As for your DH, sounds like he was suitably chastised. You might want to ask him how he uses the hand towels though. Grin

Marmite27 · 28/12/2022 18:18

Is it’s water that he put in mug, had a mouthful from then poured remains into the kettle? Spitting the sip he had into the sink?

Then the water that he’s ‘contaminated’ will be boiled in the kettle. Surely boiling the damn water is enough to render it clean enough to drink. What am I missing that everyone is getting het up over? You’d boil swamp water to make it safe to drink wouldn’t you?

FolornLawn · 28/12/2022 18:18

So this is a mug of water that he drank out of and then he poured the leftovers into the kettle?

Could be wrong but don't most people pour water into the cup, brush their teeth, spit into the sink but then put the spitty toothbrush back into the cup to then do another scrub/rinse? Any germs would be boiled away but not many people would fancy a cuppa that likely had the contents of a spitty tooth mug in? I wouldn't anyway! 😂

I have never known anyone involve a mug in teeth cleaning at all. I don’t really know what a toothmug is at all although my gut feeling is that it shouldn’t be emptied into a kettle, also teeth should not be cleaned in the kitchen.

Oysterbabe · 28/12/2022 18:40

I have low standards but that is fucking gross. Why are you allowing him to brush his teeth in the kitchen? No no no. This must stop.
