I see no issue with this.

Legallypinkish · 13/11/2022 01:55

Oh ffs is this for real?!

upfucked · 13/11/2022 01:59

Talk to him about it tomorrow when you are sober.

ilyx · 13/11/2022 02:02

Hmmm I’d find it pretty inappropriate

Nosleepforthismum · 13/11/2022 03:58

Yeah, it’s a non issue

Josette77 · 13/11/2022 04:50

Aw I actually love when they do that. ❤️

GreenWheat · 13/11/2022 04:54

I do not get how some people manage to function in life with this level of petty dramatics. Your title makes it sound like he habitually greets random women in an inappropriate way.

Offleyhoo · 13/11/2022 05:10

I'm with you in so far as I can't imagine dh ever doing that or thinking it was appropriate. Have you told him you don't like it?

MysweetAudrina · 13/11/2022 06:04

My dh would never address someone like.that, but we have a married friend who, when we meet, always says hello gorgeous to me. I am not gorgeous, he does not actually find me gorgeous, he is 100% in love and loyal to his wife. It is just a term of endearment from him. My dh would sound like a perv if he started doing it.

SheWoreARaspberryBeret123 · 13/11/2022 06:25

I couldn't get worked up about this.
Are there any other things he does that make you feel insecure?
Perhaps it's not just this one thing?

jays · 13/11/2022 06:29

I wouldn’t like it at all! And my dh wouldn’t like it if I greeted a male friend with ‘hello handsome’. No need for it so why do it.

Felicitythecat · 13/11/2022 06:35

Whenever I get off a one-man bus I say "Thank you" to the driver.
There's one driver who says "See you soon darlin'"
He must be at least 20 years younger than me.
It's harmless. 🙂

That’s not the same thing. At all. 😐

monsteronahill · 13/11/2022 07:02

I've got a married friend like this - he calls everyone that, it's always "hello gorgeous", "hello beautiful" etc - he's done it since we were all teens! His wife has no issue with it as far as I know, and honestly he's been doing it longer than he's been with her so it'd be weird if she made him stop! It's just his way of greeting people, I'm not sure it's inappropriate in any way.

Redkettle · 13/11/2022 07:04

If they say it all the time it's a non issue. If they don't greet women like that and they say it to one person then I'd be annoyed

pinkfondu · 13/11/2022 07:10

Do you mean he only ever says it to her?

Dimondsareforever · 13/11/2022 07:12

Depends if he only says it to this one women, or all women. If all, then it’s a non issue. If it’s just one women, I would keep an eye on that …

Makeitwork44 · 13/11/2022 07:29

I wouldn't like this.

PurpleFlower1983 · 13/11/2022 07:33

Not an issue at all.

Heartsofstone · 13/11/2022 07:40

It doesn’t matter if randoms on the internet think it’s ok or not. You do not like it. Discuss this with him who says it. Ask him why? Is he insecure? Want people to like him? Or is he generally the type to use endearing terms in a casual way?

BabyPotato · 13/11/2022 07:44

Bleurgh I knew it was going to be gorgeous before I clicked on this. I personally hate it when people call me that, but that's probably because my perverted relative called me that and he turned out to be a Peeping Tom. 🤮

Anyway. It doesn't sound like it's anything untoward but it is cringey and I wouldn't like it either. Why not use mate or love or something that isn't technically looks-focussed?

killthemall · 13/11/2022 08:11

The only men I've ever known to greet women as gorgeous are creeps who end up 'accidentally' touching you all night, brushing past you and lingering, touching your leg when you're talking to them, stuff like that.

funnily enough my dh used to call me gorgeous and I hated it. now he doesn't anymore (at my request or not I can't remember) and now I miss it. Probably because I was gorgeous when we met compared to how I look now after the burden of adult life! 🤣

Goldengoosey · 13/11/2022 08:11

My ex used to call every woman, including me, darling. It used to irk me slightly but when he turned out to be a two/three timing fucker I realised why he did this. Less likely to get caught out calling women by the wrong name. Although I am sure there are men who do it just to be friendly.

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 13/11/2022 08:25

DH's friend greets me like that. And our DD as well. I really don't think it's an issue. It's like saying hello lovely or something

RedHelenB · 13/11/2022 09:20

Offleyhoo · 13/11/2022 05:10

It's not for her to mind, she's not his boss. It's for the people he greets to decide if they feel its inappropriate.
