Does anyone genuinely walk into a room of strangers and feel no fear?

Anyone? I wouldn’t say I have social anxiety, but the thought of walking into a room full of strangers and having to make small talk would make me nervous. Curious to know whether this is normal or if it does mean I have some sort of anxiety around people?

Depends. I'm much happier doing that in social settings than at work. Too much at stake in a work setting. They did an event after lockdown where they books out a basement bar and filled it with lockdown joiners. I took one look at people wedged so close together there's be no way of moving between groups and handed my badge back in and went home.

I’m comfortable in a room of strangers. Although I’m getting fussier with how I spend my time as I get older.

I have enough friends, but don’t have enough free time to spend it on chit chat without a purpose.

Work gatherings have a political upside. School gatherings are fine, as that’s a particular social circle to benefit my DC. Weddings where I don’t know most of the attendees are mildly irritating, as it’s mindless chit chat 😂

Nope doesn’t bother me.

I travelled the world in my 20s on my own and met all sorts of people.

I used to be a nurse and I’m totally one of those people that will talk to anyone so I’d happily walk into a room of strangers

It wouldn't worry me at all!

I'm much more terrified of walking into rooms full of people I already know but have almost nothing in common with! Exhausting Grin

I prefer strangers than people I know.

I can give off the right friendly chatty vibes with strangers. People I know have already formed opinions of me which worries me more.

Oh. Perhaps you’d rather be someone else?

Feeling nervous is different to feeling fear.

Wouldn’t bother me. Most of the people I talk to each day are strangers
