Don't hug me I'm scared (Channel 4)

I came across this on Channel 4 the other day and I can't help but find it disgusting. It's disguised as a bright happy show for children but is filled with innapropriate and violent content. The programme shows 3 children's puppets in a house together singing songs but it quickly turns bloody and violent. I'm really struggling to see the funny side here, what if this was accidentally shown to a child expecting an innocent show? Aibu to find this disgraceful?

Wait til you come across the bastardised ‘stab by’ versions of Peppa Pig on YouTube that will traumatise your toddler for life

Or people could vet what their kids are watching online. Youtube has videos of actual deaths yet people think it's safe for kids.

Some of those cartoons slip through the net.

My point is that why would anyone ruin Peppa Pig like that?

This is a discussion forum. We can discuss things like this, you know Hmm

Because some people like it? Some people think it's funny?

WILL NO ONE THINK OF THE CHILDREN.

But seriously, it’s an adult show and has adult content. Who lets their kids watch stuff without finding out what it is first?

Babasghost · 25/10/2022 12:41

I don't think it's unreasonable
But mostly because I'm one of the thousands of children traumatised in the 1980s by parents buying them when the wind blows ( an animation about nuclear war) because it was drawn by the man who did the snowman.

Ahhh, this brings back fond memories of the day my toddlers asked to watch the sausage cartoon, and I let them watch Sausage Party for half an hour before I joined them, and swiftly realised the content was far from appropriate.

Googled this and it looks much nicer than a gorey puppet show. I'll show an episode to the grandkids when I next see them 😊

Gransnet might be more your scene

on there they’re not even allowed to swear, sounds right up your ridiculous alley
