There are a few lyrics that are worrying when taken literally (or differently emphasised for comic effect):

And some that are plain creepy:

I've never liked the Ian Dury song 'Wake up and make love to me' ( think that's the title!) He says, 'I don't want to make you'. I've never been sure if he means wake her up or have sex with her, but either is grim. I can remember telling a friend of DH how much I didn't like Ian Dury when I was young, and he took it to mean that my dislike was based on the singer being disabled, when it was actually because I thought he was a misogynist.

@Icedlatteplease just remembered that one as well. Apparently, some people don't realize it's about stalking and actually have it as their wedding dance.

The Police have often said that they don’t understand why people want Every Breath You Take for their first dance as it’s about a stalker. Apparently James Blunt says the same of You’re Beautiful .
