Don't know about libel law in the jurisdiction where TFG is suing, but my understanding of UK libel law is that he'd get nowhere with that claim in the UK.
IANAL but have followed a couple of libel trials, and IIUC essentially in the UK you can only win a claim of defamation if you have a character to lose, and if the words of the other person have damaged that character.
If like TFG you have already admitted on tape that you commit sexual assaults (the Access Hollywood tapes) and have already been found guilty of a specific sexual assault by a jury (Carroll), then your known character is that you are a sex offender. It is therefore difficult to claim that any other allegation of sexual assault damages your character.
I remember after the Jeffrey Archer libel trial someone pointing out that it would now be safe to say anything you liked about Archer, true or not, because the trial had established he was a liar and had no character to lose. So even if you knowingly lied about him, what he couldn't do is sue you for defamation.
