Mummyof3struggles · 19/09/2022 09:26

Will there be any difference? Or will it be the exact same coverage on both? We are going to put it on the TV now

YANBU- use BBC

YABU- use ITV

I ahve no idea. Do you think ITV will have advert breaks? What will they advertise if they do?

I do hope you've managed to make a decision.

girlmom21 · 19/09/2022 09:29

I'm going to watch on BBC. It feels more 'proper' somehow.

I think there's no adverts and all broadcasters are using the same picture feed.

Ellami · 19/09/2022 09:31

I would tend to watch ITV because I have come to object to the BBC, their financial system/extravagance and faux political impartiality…..but I do like Huw Edwards, so may watch a bit of both.

MrsLargeEmbodied · 19/09/2022 09:31

sky were good for the procession through edinburgh - i think it was - less talk

Right now ITV and BBC both don’t have the exact footage on

Always BBC for formal things.

Rebelmcstreettuff · 19/09/2022 09:33

Had to turn over this morning from Susanna Reid deliberately slowing her words, was driving me insane.
But BBC as bad with their "guests"
Back to ITV now with Julie and Tom.

Anythingbutsnow · 19/09/2022 09:37

Is anyone watching alternative channels, like talk tv etc?

Zonder · 19/09/2022 09:39

Is Huw doing the BBC one?

Not got it on yet.

cakeorwine · 19/09/2022 09:41

BBC usually 'wins' on the ratings when it comes to big state events.

Luredbyapomegranate · 19/09/2022 09:41

Channel 5

He is but they keep switching to other people too.

Yes Sally was slowing their words too this morning. Turned it off for now.

girlmom21 · 19/09/2022 09:43

Who's the man greeting everyone at the door? He seems to know almost every single head of state. Assuming he's a member of royal staff?

Gooseysgirl · 19/09/2022 09:45

I'm channel hopping between Sky, ITV and BBC. I jump every time an interview begins... I just want to people watch and see all the troops etc.

Codingand36 · 19/09/2022 09:47

I'd choose BBC since ITV filmed themselves telling random people on the street that the Queen had died.

Very crass and unfair to the people they told who were suddenly upset and shocked. Just walking along doing their shopping minding their own business.

Crass, cheap, lazy and insensitive.....

(I'm not even a royalist but it really pissed me off!)

TheUntiedShoelace · 19/09/2022 09:51

Is James Naughtie involved in the BBC commentary? He was terrible during the Edinburgh procession, wittering away incessantly like a tour guide.

Gathererofnewswidow · 19/09/2022 09:53

ITV 100% (Disclaimer: My DP works for ITV News and and has worked pretty much 24/7 under incredible stress to pull this off!)
