To buy this DFS sofa from the platinum range?

we need a new sofa. I’ve seen this one and love it (with the chair) but it’s a big purchase (for us at least!) and I’m slightly nervous given bad press/reviews of DFS. It’s a sensuous from the platinum range. Does anyone have any recent experience of DFS or indeed have one of these?

Recently bought a new sofa and chair from DFS. Service was fab. They arranged free uplift and recycling of old sofa.

Everyone comments on how fab the new sofa looks. A visitor recently commented that it looked extremely well made.

Love the cuddle chair ❤️ I assume from the pic that’s what it is? I like the sofa but don’t love it. Have you looked at the Sophia/Sofia (not sure how they spell it)

Our DFS brown leather sofa is about 17 years old. It's gone out of date before it's worn out! It was mid range I think.
We've absolutely had our moneys worth and if the quality is the same I'd happily buy from them again..

Are the arm cushions attached, or loose? We had a sofa once with loose cushions like this on the arms and they were SO annoying! we ended up just not using them, which wasn't ideal either. So maybe check that out too

@DailyMailReporterTellMeAllYourSecrets we are waiting for delivery having ordered it 3 months ago! I currently have a sophia which is fine but not squishy/wide enough for me

@R21 update today. I’ve been told the foam shortage is getting better. The factory that makes the chemicals for the foam apparently stopped but have started producing again. I have been told they still plan to have mine to me beer Christmas (I don’t believe that for 1 minute!) and try to update me next week.

Ask yourself if pillow backs are really what you want. They have the tendency to flatten or fall forward, worst thing I ever did was get a pillow back, it never looks neat

@r21 yes we’ve been told same! Foam apparently arriving today/tomorrow and sofa next week. I’m not confident though - how many others are they saying the same thing to? I should get an update tomorrow and will let you know.

I bought a sofa from sofa.com for £3.5k and I HATE it! I bought a DFS sofa for £150 from Gumtree and I LOVE it!

It’s not dumpy, keeps its shape, is comfy, great colour etc.
I’ll be buying more DFS sofa’s!!

Ought my last sofa there and current one a few on the ago. Bother have been great. There was minor damage to the underside of our footstool, happened during delivery and they rectified it quickly.

My mum just had hers delivered and again it’s lovely.

Mine is great and 4 years old. When it was delivered it was the wrong colour! The delivery guys were great, called the office, reordered the right colour and left us with the wrong ones as it would be a few weeks. They then came and swapped it out, no issues.

I have a small child so thankfully the seat covers come off to be washed and it’s put up with being jumped on and general life

We have had a couple of DFS or SCS can't recall now, they've been fine to be honest. They have a service to come out if anything goes wrong apparently.
Bought a more expensive sofa for our main lounge area which is from a more expensive shop and is used a lot, but after a few years it started sagging and someone had to come and completely fix the frame - that was an expensive one!
Just check their policy on fixing issues is my advice

My dfs sofa is 10 years old and going strong! People can be total snobs about furniture, as long as you’ve actually sat on it and liked it I’d go for it.

@r21 they’ve called today and said it won’t be ready. I can live with the fact it’s not going to be here be Christmas but they haven’t given me a date - should be there mid Jan. So they clearly lied when they said the foam was in and it would be out this week if they can’t even give me a date at all at this point. I’m so cross.

any updates on your sofa after these years? Do you still like them? We are thinking of buying the Lorenza from the platinum range. What colours did you get in the end?
