I understand that the main stream news will be mainly about the Queen's death but surely they could at wmast have some time reporting on other items.

Something major happening in Ukraine, the energy crisis, Olivia the girl who was shot it Liverpool as gone fromthe headlines. There was a missing child todayand Scotland also no coverage of Chris Kaba death.

It's crazy.

It is - a madness the media seem to think we want.

Zzz101 · 10/09/2022 22:22

I agree with you. Unfortunately this is going to go in for some days. Brace yourself…

Applebark · 10/09/2022 22:23

You're looking in the wrong places for news if you can't find anything else other than the Queen.

I can obviously that's why I know about Ukraine. My point is surely the main stream media could at least report on other items once every few hours.

Here you are:

www.bbc.co.uk/news

PleaseGoDontGoAgain · 10/09/2022 22:31

There is other news coverage. Click a topic on the banner that isn't UK or The Queen.

carefullycourageous · 10/09/2022 22:32

I agree, the BBC could have BBC1 as Queen and News Channel as Queen + other news.

FourChimneys · 10/09/2022 22:33

I've just been reading the news online but steadfastly avoiding anything to do with the royal family.

Plenty of news if you look. Ukraine, possible breakthrough in cancer treatment/prevention, update on Chris Kaba's killing etc.

wb3 · 10/09/2022 22:34

There'll all there on the BBC website

Just scroll down a bit. It's not difficult.

TiddyTidTwo · 10/09/2022 22:34

Sky is rightly reporting the historical events of the UK and also saw an update on Ukraine. What do you want?

Bubblebubblebah · 10/09/2022 22:34

Erm

This has been a problem for a long while now.
Recommended on here was Aljazeera news which I look at sometimes when U.K. news doesn't cover the world news enough.

Hbh17 · 10/09/2022 22:36

I have heard plenty of other news coverage in the last few days. Do you never listen to Radio 4? It is always far better than TV news.

I have heard about the missing child in Dunbar, and have found other news on various sites.

HeddaGarbled · 10/09/2022 22:36

Still, we won’t have a BBC much longer and then it really will be wall to wall bollocks.

Violashift · 10/09/2022 22:52

The apps are mainly the Queen. The TV has had nothing else.

There is other news if you look for it, but this is massive. It's a moment in history and as such, it absolutely has to be top priority just now.

Rapidtango · 10/09/2022 22:56

Ukraine, Chris Kaba covered on BBC1 now - Orla Guerin did a quite in depth piece on Ukraine. Little boy in Scotland has been found, thankfully. There is plenty of stuff on BB C website.

KeyErro · 10/09/2022 22:58

I've been watching Euronews and NHK's English channel.

I do understand that but with the TV steams they could do it every few hours.

I also know lots of older people worried about the cost of living they don't use the apps.

I watched the TV news at teatime today. Lead story was the proclamation of the King but they also covered Ukraine, protest about the shooting of Chris Kaba and a possible cancer breakthrough. I don't know what you watched but the news was there

Applebark · 10/09/2022 23:01

Getting the news from only apps or the TV is like referencing Wikipedia in a thesis. If you want information about what is actually going on in the world go elsewhere and from several different sources not just the Murdoch media.

Sky news on in the background all day where I work. No other news. Apps at least 5 stories before anything else.

Many don't and that's my issue. Lots will be missed.
