I’ve had one of those days...

Would really appreciate hearing some good things from people - anything you’d like to talk about, really:

happy/heartwarming/fun/funny/exciting/quiet/content/cosy things.

Ideas for topics:

Food (always a favourite)
Pets + photos
Happy moments
Funny stories
Interesting facts about obscure things

Only rule is no discussion about previous threads. Wink All is forgiven, no grudges will be held.

I’m hungry. Yorkshire pudding batter is chilling as I type (is it called typing when you’re on a tablet?). Leftover brisket is ready to re-heat.

All is good in the world.

Some baby capybaras were born at Chester Zoo recently. I like capybaras.

@NiqueNique they are currently my spirit animal - permanently look like they are saying "FFS" at everything and they just lie around all day. Awesome.

deflatedbirthday · 03/09/2022 18:00

These two babies are going to their forever home tomorrow ❤️

@PuppyMonkey that made me chuckle when I saw it on ‘threads I’m on’ so thanks for the laugh! Then I saw your whole comment and my heart melted. What a beautiful dog.

For the first time in 4 years I have a neighbour! Well, they’re about 200m away from us but it’s lovely to hear the children tearing about the garden.

NiqueNique · 03/09/2022 18:04

@deflatedbirthday they are so gorgeous. 😍 We had a fantastic pet rabbit who was very much a part of our family. He had the run of our house and garden and was more like a dog than a rabbit!

@Needmorelego heh. I can relate.

I went to the supermarket earlier. These places are amazing. Farmers from various places nurture the soil and toil to bring us food and the supermarkets coordinate it all. I can go in, purchase peppers, some mushrooms, tomatoes and some spices and make an amazing dish. This is all possible because people work together.

As I arrived, in the corner of the car park was a basket. Left there straddling two parking slots because some arsehole could not be bothered to take it back.

I saw this basket and felt sorry for it. I took it back and found a place to stack it with its friends. This morning first thing an empty black plant plot from the spring was gently blowing down the drive. I had to run and fetch it back. It just belongs to us and the rest of the pots. Next Spring it will be happy, bathing in sun, full of rich soil and a little seed inside it.

I just love inanimate objects and sometimes feel sorry for them.

@Qik I like that. Some whimsy is needed in today’s world, I think. It’s the only way to hold on to some sanity!

@Gottoomuchgoingon Are they yours?

@NiqueNique their dad is exactly like that! He's my best boy! He just came when I shouted him with the promise of Cheerios!

No. We visited XCARET! in Mexico recently.

They do a lot of breeding these were babies getting ready to be released. Super cute

NiqueNique · 04/09/2022 10:26

Very cute!

We came upon some alpacas in a field recently on one of our weekend walks. Such a lovely surprise - such funny, friendly looking things (but I don’t have a photo as the one I tried to take didn’t come out well).

@NiqueNique I saw some llamas (or alpacas - never know the difference) recently. They had recently had a hair cut. I laughed at them because their hairdos were hilarious. They were not happy.

I love alpacas/llamas. They are so inoffensive looking.

CalamityClam · 04/09/2022 10:43

I love teenagers.
I told 3 boys off in the cinema last night for running around and shouting/play fighting while the film was on.
One of them tried to be all macho with me but it didn’t last long. They’re like lovely, long-limbed puppies.

wishing them a happy bunny life x.

Needmorelego · 04/09/2022 10:48

@CalamityClam I went to the cinema recently and a group of about 6 boys aged about 12/13 came in. I think they had fallen into a Lynx Spray factory but my first thought was "ooh they smell nice" 🤣

It reminds me of a discussion we once had in an A-level lesson at school and my classmate said that when he stacked shelves in a supermarket he'd ponder on things like if he put the carton on this side of the display it would go to one home, but if he put it on that side of the display it would go to another home.

That's stuck with me for 20 years 😂
