I’ve had one of those days...

Would really appreciate hearing some good things from people - anything you’d like to talk about, really:

happy/heartwarming/fun/funny/exciting/quiet/content/cosy things.

Ideas for topics:

Food (always a favourite)
Pets + photos
Happy moments
Funny stories
Interesting facts about obscure things

Only rule is no discussion about previous threads. Wink All is forgiven, no grudges will be held.

I’m hungry. Yorkshire pudding batter is chilling as I type (is it called typing when you’re on a tablet?). Leftover brisket is ready to re-heat.

All is good in the world.

Dogs definitely know how to get 100% comfy!

I'm so glad to see you back OP. I was halfway through posting yesterday when it was deleted. Here are our cats snoozing together.

And yesterday I adapted a lemon chicken and tomato rice recipe to be vegetarian, and it was delicious!

knackeredagain · 04/09/2022 14:09

My cat’s just gone out to play with his best mate, who lives across the road. They go and call for each other by sitting on each other’s windowsills.

NiqueNique · 04/09/2022 14:10

Lovely cats! 😍 They certainly know how to snooze.

I’d love the adapted recipe if you’re happy to share - although I’m not vegetarian I’m always looking for delicious dishes to make and we’re aiming to eat meatless once or twice a week.

I work in a supermarket. Over the past year I've got chatting to a customer who has two small daughters.
We've got to a point where they look for me if they come shopping and we go and put coppers into the big guide dog collection thing. (We save any left behind change and add our own money to the bag if it gets too low)
They've named both dogs. I have to call them the right names Grin
The other day they came in and we were chatting away and I ended up knelt on the floor whilst the girls ran up and down and I was talking to their mum.
Suddenly the older one decided to launch herself at me for a hug. I checked her mum was ok with it and hugged her back. Then the little one who isn't quite 2 decided she was going to do it too. So for the next five minutes I got hugged repeatedly whilst they competed for the best run up!
Made my day. We talk to the children who come in the shop all the time and try to make the shopping trip easier in any way we can for the parents.
Covid meant we had to take a step back from babies we had been cooing over and no high fives for the toddlers. It was so sad.
I was telling Dh about it later that night and I got really emotional about it.

@PoorlyPooch that’s so lovely. It’s incredible, isn’t it, how much we absolutely need touch and interaction.

A glimpse of my first ever home grown pumpkins op!
Am I weird to feel pride at my patch?!

Not weird at all! We’re growing tomatoes for the first time and I’m very proud of them. Love your pumpkin patch.

Happy moment. Self indulgent so apols in advance...

I've been ill since 27th February 2020, just before lockdown started. I had to have multiple tests, tubes in and out, squeezed into the MRI machine so many times I am glowing with the dye, opened up, stitched back, fell out of the hospital bed, smacked a doctor on the face (drugs lol), was all alone during this and it has been going on..... until last Friday.

Got a final procedure done after many others. Doc came around and said "greenhouse, you are doing great, that last surgery was a success. I don't want to see you again" (said with laughter).

Reader, I cried tears and tears, of relief and happiness. I wish the same outcome for all those going through serious illness too. It's a wonderful day.

I was going through my FB photos and came across this 😂I can't remember what I'd done to provoke such rudeness.

I had a mastectomy this time last year, so couldn't walk my dogs - so took them for road trips instead!

Oncewassmith · 04/09/2022 21:50

Fully recovered - and now have inflatable boobs

NiqueNique · 05/09/2022 09:56

@greenhousegal how wonderful and I’m absolutely delighted for you! Flowers No apologies needed!

@Oncewassmith doggie roadtrips, how totally fab, and what a great gang!! I’m so glad you’ve fully recovered, and congrats on the inflatable boobs! Flowers

@Chikapu love that. Did you mean to be so rude, Mr/Ms Giraffe??

I think I’m starting to sound like, uh, what’s the character’s name in Friends - Phoebe’s boyfriend who’s so OTT gushing and positive and thrilled about EVERY SINGLE THING and drives everyone utterly mad...

I promise I’m not like that...I’m just feeling quite low at the moment and maybe overcompensating a little with the cheeriness.

Qik.. I agree it's a gift to raise these babies but with a big lump of responsibilities too. The filly in the photo had to be tube fed for 24 hours as she failed to latch so was very wary of people for a couple of weeks, I think we're over that now 🤣. But the orange boy hasn't had as much hands on as I hurt my back but is now coming on nicely.
