I just saw in my app! They are taking away £10 off at £200 and replacing it with a reward at £250. Rubbish. Lidl Abu.

We do our main shop in Lidl and spend much more than £250 a month, anyway.

Whatwouldscullydo · 27/08/2022 10:43

Everything is getting so expensive. I guess they had to make a choice.

Do customers want cheap or do they want rewards.

I'm.assumimg there's little choice now. You can't have both.

chillipenguin · 27/08/2022 10:44

Noooooo

Never mind it's still way cheaper than my alternative supermarket

They also seem to have stopped the weekend specials too 😥

WyldeSwan · 27/08/2022 10:50

Yes it's 10% off your next shop now isn't it? Which would be fine, as you could do less but bigger shops for store cupboard stuff - but you've only a week to use it :(

Even as one person I spend £150 easy

YouLookinSusBro · 27/08/2022 10:56

Just came on to post the same thing 😟 I always spend £200 and the £10 voucher was really handy just before payday

1stTimeMama · 27/08/2022 11:00

They only just moved the goalposts a little while ago, and now again? I'm finding the Tesco clubcard offers quite good though.

catandcoffee · 27/08/2022 11:01

Prices have risen so much in Lidl its cheaper to shop at Tesco and Morrisons.

The freezer section in my Lidl is only ever half full...for at least the last 6 months.

Plus Lidl stopped selling their frozen vegetable curry 😡

Longdistance · 27/08/2022 11:03

I spent £300 on Lidl last month (looked at my digital receipt). I buy wine there too, so that bumps it up. I’ll probably qualify for £10 off. I’m not doing a big shop today as we’re going away. I agree that 10% off is rubbish. I’d only use that for a big shop.

I've never quite forgiven them for stopping selling their almond croissants about 6 years ago 😂

I don't buy from the bakery there's always flys around in our local ones and people using their hands and sneezing

TwoMonthsOff · 27/08/2022 11:12

@catandcoffee
oh no ….I hadn’t seen it for ages just thought it was out of stock. That’s disappointing it was lovely, the tikka masala ? In the purple box?

Ooh! I take it back then. I stopped looking out for them about 5 years ago. All is forgiven 😂😂

Caterina99 · 27/08/2022 16:24

I can’t decide if this will save us more money or not. We would fairly easily spend £250 per month at lidl as it’s our main shop and we spend about £100 a week on average now.

What I don’t like is that the vouchers expire in 7 days. I don’t shop on an exact day each week and I’ve had them expire occasionally because it’s been 8 or more days. It should be your next shop, or valid for a month after you’ve earned it

IvebeenUpAllNightNoSleep · 28/08/2022 07:23

Also spotted this yesterday.

ypu will only get 10% off the next shop AFTER you’ve reached £250.

so to get the equivalent £10 off you then have to spend £100 after the £250 if that makes sense.

Not good for me. I used to use the £10 at end of month and buy all my laundry powders etc.

Caterina99 · 28/08/2022 13:12

Yep I was thinking hopefully I can stretch til Thursday for this weeks shopping so that it’s in September and can add to the total! otherwise it’ll be more difficult to meet that £250 target AND then have a shop worth more than £100 by the end of September

IvebeenUpAllNightNoSleep · 28/08/2022 13:19

I wonder if Aldi will
ever do some kind of loyalty thing?

Skidamarinkadinkadink · 29/08/2022 07:21

Argh this is really annoying, we use Lidl’s as our main shop and always spend the £10 voucher… doubt this one will be as good or save us as much money.

Tinuviel · 29/08/2022 08:14

I was really disappointed when I first spotted this but I think it might work in our favour as we'll just do a bigger shop and stock up on loo roll, cleaning stuff, tins etc once we reach the 10% voucher so we get more than £10 discount.

Provided we do that in the following month, it will count towards the next set of vouchers.

Gatekeeper · 29/08/2022 13:24

the 10% off is capped at a £200 shop as well

Sanj65 · 31/08/2022 12:01

This is terrible for me. Being divorced and one my own I barely get to £200 in a month, although with the way prices are being hiked daily it's getting more likely. £250 will be virtually impossible and even then to get £10 off you need to spend £100 on your next shop. I'll probably cap my spend to £100 now just to get the £2 voucher do the rest of my shopping elsewhere. Many aisles in Lidl are empty. They haven't been stocking deodorants for a good few weeks 😖

fisjon · 31/08/2022 12:18

Yep, had a shock this morning when I turned on my lidl app.
I actually bought a smart phone in order to get the £10 discount so I had to wait over a year before I was in profit.
And yes, the shelves are bare and certain items are not being replaced.
I always end up at some time in the month nipping down to tesco to get those items that Lidl don't stock so Lidl is really not a full time supermarket.
Take note lidl, you're on a looser.
I shall check out ALDI and ASDA and see what my shop comes to.
