There's a film coming out called Alphas which is killer whales vs 🦈, looks good!

Ooh, yes please!

ExcaliburBaby · 18/09/2022 07:41

we are going to watch Jaws at the cinema tonight - very excited!

CathyorClaire · 18/09/2022 20:56

I spotted 'The Meg' on the 50p shelf in a charity shop the other day and <ahem> snapped it up. Am very chuffed Grin

ExcaliburBaby · 10/10/2022 22:27

Just popping back to say I watched a pretty rubbish one on Sky tonight - Shark Bait. It did make jump quite a bit though having said that!

Kitkatcatflap · 10/10/2022 22:56

I bought my DH the Sharknado box set and he said it was the best present he'd ever had.

We love a shark film. Have you seen the trailer for Alien Shark - looks so bad, it's brilliant.

AtrociousCircumstance · 10/10/2022 23:23

Shark Bait was quite watchable although I now have a habit of fast forwarding through truly boring segments of trashy films to get to the good bits!

SPOILER!! :

It annoyed me that we didn’t get to see her return to normal life - some context and contrast would have been good at the end.

ExcaliburBaby · 11/10/2022 06:07

@AtrociousCircumstance perhaps I’m being a bit harsh. It was entertaining enough I guess! Yes I thought that about the end too!

Goodadvice1980 · 11/10/2022 06:20

Watched Jaws as a child and it terrified me 😢 have a phobia now about 🦈

saw the OP’s headline and instantly thought of the scene in Friends - Chandler watches shark 🦈 porn 😂👍

Glad so many people enjoy the films 🎥🦈👍👍

Soubriquet · 11/10/2022 06:23

Dh bought shark bait and another one the other week so I thought I would give it a go.

Rubbish the pair of them

Ilovelurchers · 11/10/2022 06:30

Great thread! My DD and I love this type of movie, and our friend recommended the Shark-nado series to us a while ago - even just saying the words "Shark-nado"to each other makes us laugh...... Prompted by comments on this thread I think I will definitely be picking up the box set for her for Xmas if I can find it.......

Wideawakeandconfused · 11/10/2022 06:38

Love love a shark film!! My son and I are working through the classics. There are a few on here I’ve not heard off so they’re going on my list.

Trinity65 · 11/10/2022 16:33

Just came to the thread to say I watched Jaws 3 last night It was very lame on this second watch but I watched till the end.
I suppose, for the time though, it was good (It had also been in 3D originally)

ExcaliburBaby · 11/10/2022 23:44

I actually have a soft spot for Jaws 3(D). I think it’s the Sea World-esque setting! the whole underwater tunnel thing. And a young Dennis Quaid maybe too 😂

Binkybix · 14/10/2022 14:46

@ExcaliburBaby me too! I like the homage to the underwater control room in Deep Blue Sea :)

Mommabear20 · 14/10/2022 14:59

Loved the shallows, jaws, deep blue sea, the Meg and shark documentaries, but absolutely couldn't stand The Reef! Absolutely abysmal acting and very predictable!

Scoobydoobywho · 14/10/2022 15:01

I enjoyed 47 meters down.

burnoutbabe · 14/10/2022 15:17

I was dithering about getting sky movies on a cheap deal and the fact u can watch rubbish shark movies convinces me to do it!

Or crocodile movies like crawl or lake placid.

Pawport · 14/10/2022 17:03

Where are you guys all watching these shark films? I’ve looked a few up but they don’t appear to be on any streaming tv apart from Amazon but not included in prime?

Alconleigh · 14/10/2022 17:44

Deep Blue Sea is excellent. But yes for other creatures you have to go a long way to beat the sheer joy of Lake Placid. Betty White 😍. Plus, massive creatures, obvs.

Eaumyword · 14/10/2022 18:00

Lake Placid is divine! Scary creatures, a fab story, Betty White and some hilarious lines.
DH and I often quote that film to each other!😂

Wammawink · 14/10/2022 19:06

Has nobody mentioned the the ummmm...masterpiece that is Noah's Shark?!

toulet · 14/10/2022 19:19

other good croc films are

rouge
black water

BrokeAsABone · 14/10/2022 20:32

I almost prefer Deep Blue Sea to Jaws! It's such an awesome film with a cool cast...if you ever have a chance to listen to the audio commentary on DVD, it's well worth it, and hilarious. Once Samuel Jackson gets it, he's like...'right, I'm off...'😂😂😂

GrouchyKiwi · 14/10/2022 20:52

I'm watching Deep Blue Sea right now. I love this film.

Wanted Lake Placid, but it's not streaming free anywhere. Sad

Eaumyword · 14/10/2022 20:55

Jaws will always be my #1 for so many reasons, but I absolutely love Deep Blue Sea. You're right, it's so cool. I do a happy dance whenever it comes on tv.
