I like some shark films. I like

the meg
47 metres down. (The sequel wasn’t as good but still watchable)
the reef
the shallows
Open water

Sidge · 09/08/2022 11:48

I see your sharks and alligators and raise you to…..

Llamageddon. Killer llamas. Worst film I have ever seen.

CathyorClaire · 09/08/2022 11:57

Yep. Love a good sharkarama. That or rogue piranha Grin

Dh, the clown, disses Open Water and Adrift as 'just lots of bobbing about' Angry. He has no appreciation of building toothy terror.

Have you all seen the one where it's an albino, blind shark living in a cave of ruins? Can't think what it was called

Shark In Venice?

47 metres uncaged?

involves 3/4 teenage girls?

Hereforthedramaz · 09/08/2022 12:14

@Soubriquet
47 metres down: uncaged That was it! I really enjoyed that one!

I was trying to find a very old one I watched as a teen so early 2000s I guess, where sharks could also walk/swim on land!

In my Googling I found this dramatic trailer which I will definitely be watching!

No but now I really really want to see Shark in Venice!!

Especially as it combines sharks and Stephen Baldwin which tells you exactly how low budget it's going to be!!

Shark films are my guilty pleasure.

The best ever was when a group of people were trapped in a flooded supermarket with marauding sharks. Would love to see it again but can’t remember the name. It was absolute garbage

I will raise you Sharknado and give you Sharks in Venice! One of my favourite scenes features a shark leaping from the canal in Venice to kill someone on the beach. Starring the poor man's Baldwin brother and it even features the Illuminati. Many other shark films are fun but none will beat this B movie beauty!

I was going to mention Sharks in Venice. It is high on my list of Have To Watch but I can't find it on the platforms we have.

I love a good monster animal film - sharks, crocs, spiders. Bring it on. DH indulges me and we've started a wee tradition of watching one on NYE each year, with a table full of food and wine. Grin

Sharktopus is worth a watch. It is utterly ridiculous.

Also: big recommendation for Black Sheep, a Kiwi horror film about killer sheep. It's ace.

GrouchyKiwi · 09/08/2022 12:22

Oooh, and for an actually good film: Lake Placid. About a killer croc. Has Bill Pullman and Oliver Platt. <3

Jins · 09/08/2022 12:22

I obviously missed the post that named the supermarket film. Thanks so much

Jaws frightened me to death, I was probably only 12 or 13 the first time I saw it, gave me nightmares for ages. I still can't walk through tunnels at aquariums with sharks in them.

I think the first kill scene with the young girl skinny dipping is so terrifying and brilliantly done in his genuinely frightened she sounds. Then he drags her under and it's all quiet except the waves and the buoy clanging Confused

Binkybix · 09/08/2022 14:39

Many of my favourites on here, and some to add to my watch list. 8 legged freaks is ok, if we’re allowed to move away from the water (agree on Black Sheep)

afrikat · 09/08/2022 14:51

I found my people! Love a good shark movie. My faves have already been mentioned but if I can branch out, Lake Placid is brilliant

I think that's Bait, if you're thinking of an Australian film?

How did I forget one of the absolute classics - SHARKTOPUS.

mrstnov13 · 09/08/2022 15:13

There needs to be more shark films! 🦈

GonnaeNoDaeThat89 · 09/08/2022 15:17

Not read all the replies OP so sorry if this has already been mentioned...have you seen the Sharknado movies?

GonnaeNoDaeThat89 · 09/08/2022 15:18

Oh, Deep Blue Sea is my favourite shark movie 😁

I thought I was the only person ever to have seen Shark in Venice! You sum it up wonderfully. It was further compromised by using the most mundane stock footage of sharks ever through most of the film.

In essence, not enough sharks, far too much Stephen Baldwin, but a classic of its kind.

endoflevelbaddy · 09/08/2022 19:49

Omg I've found my people 🤣
I'll watch absolutely anything shark themed no matter how cheesy. Jaws obviously had a huge impact on me when I watched it as a kid. Don't think I've any more to add to the watch list though.

Perplexed0522 · 09/08/2022 19:55

I absolutely LOVE shark films!!!

Deep Blue Sea is fantastic!!

My 8 year old loves the Sharknado films!!!!

TowelChair · 09/08/2022 20:09

I love shark films too 😂

What about the one where some college kids are visiting a house on an island and there’s a crazy guy who steals their boat and releases different kinds of sharks into the lake to kill them!! No idea what the film is called, but it was bonkers 🦈

afrikat · 09/08/2022 20:32

Anyone else enjoy the Jaws sequels (even the horrific Revenge??)

giffyg · 09/08/2022 20:34

I love shark films!!! what annoys me though is I don't think you need crazy cgi or budget as it's the suspense. Unfortunately directors think differently to me (perhaps I'm wrong) hence we have tornado shark etc.
