Can anyone recommend. Thinking of an Xmas present for the kids and husband but not sure if we’d want them sooner than Xmas.

This thread is slightly old now so some of the suggestions may be out of stock, but if you’ve landed here looking for cosy heated blankets, we’ve recently updated our best heated throw page with loads of great options that have been tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Smile

I got one from Lakeland. But Argos ,Dunelm Mill and John Lewis will all do them.

GaslitlikeaVictorianparlour · 07/08/2022 21:35

I would get them much sooner than Christmas. I'd get them for September!

I have but there are loads. Wondered if anyone could recommend one so I don’t get something rubbish.

Don't get the very thick faux fur ones, they are a dead weight and don't wrap round you easily. The thinner (and cheaper!) ones are better.

MIL bought one from either lidl or aldi last year and was very pleased. Not sure when it came out, but assuming in the autumn sometime.

Geepee71 · 07/08/2022 21:47

I got mine from Tesco, it's either Dreams or Slumberdown make.

poorpaws · 07/08/2022 21:48

I got mine from Argos. It's the plain grey one and about £50(?). Some of the ones I looked at were around £100. I love it and bought dd an identical one, she loves it too.

Thank you! This is the kind of thing I was hoping to learn. They aren’t cheap especially if buying a few so don’t want to get it wrong.

I keep looking at the silent night ones, anybody got one? Are they any good?

AllFreeOwls · 07/08/2022 21:49

I got a nice one from Lakeland

CornishTiger · 07/08/2022 21:50

Are they really much better than decent blankets? Genuine question.

Ontomatopea · 07/08/2022 21:50

Are these electric?

TooHotToTangoToo · 07/08/2022 21:50

Amazon

Ontomatopea · 07/08/2022 21:50

I'm getting oodies for everyone for Xmas but wondering if this would be a good idea for those that cannot oodie

Mine was from Costco last year. Love it!

Considering what's happening with energy, I reckon heated throws are going to be highly sought after from Oct onwards, probably far more than past years.

Anyone thinking of buying one I'd try and get on it ASAP because come October they may all be OOS or double the price.
