Where are you getting heated throws from?

Can anyone recommend. Thinking of an Xmas present for the kids and husband but not sure if we’d want them sooner than Xmas.

This thread is slightly old now so some of the suggestions may be out of stock, but if you’ve landed here looking for cosy heated blankets, we’ve recently updated our best heated throw page with loads of great options that have been tried and tested by Mumsnet users. We hope you find it useful. Smile

Do you think a cat would damage one with its claws if it set about kneading it in that way that they have?

I don’t mind if the fabric pulls (although it’s a pain) but I’m wondering more about the electric parts.

I had two cats, now just the one. We got our heated throws years ago from QVC, cozee home range and the cats haven't damaged them with their clawing.

I bought one in Argos last year but although both of us used it from time to time, we've never even unpacked the plug. I might just as well have bought a double layer basic fleece throw! Our living room faces north and is a very cold room.

I guess you'd have to sit near a plug for these?

Cheeselog I was put off electric blankets as a kid (I'm 65) because my Mum was nervous of them, the one we had was a pink monstrosity. A friend bought me one when my husband died in 2016, best thing ever as I used to dread going to bed. I think there are far more safety regulations nowadays.

I've bought a friend the Dreamland Relaxwell heated throw, he sits in his chair a lot while my friend is at work, hopefully he'll use it rather than the central heating.

@YelloCar was wondering exactly the same thing! My cats are always frantically making pies on my fleece blanket, so I thought an electric one would be ruined in no time!

I'm updating, after checking this thread for recommendations again, that I bought one from Lakeland in the end.

My friend has just got in touch, apparently he couldn't sleep last night and came downstairs and used his new birthday gift, the Dreamland Relaxwell, and thought it was great. I need to get one for me!

Jumping on this thread to ask... Has anyone found a small heated throw? Most seem to be full size blankets and I'd like more of a half size one.

Mine's 120 x 160cm. Probably too big? @HouseInChaos

@YelloCar & @floppybit We got the dreamland fur one (in fallow deer). I've been using it this week as I've got a cold and can't keep warm. Our two have been all over it making biscuits and it's fine. It's so thick they'll not ruin it although they will hog it. I've been bunched up at the end trying to keep my cold germs out of their way. Bought it from Lakeland but Argos now have all their blankets in stock, though it was the 3yr guarantee from L.land made me chose them. I've bought a couple of the sherpa lined ones for christmas gifts, they'd definitely click those, and leave hair all over them.

@darisdet , yes, that sounds like the same size as mine. I'm trying to find a small one to give as a present just to go over their lap. I'm surprised it's so difficult!

Argos. And no issue with drinks being spilt as they go in the washing machine.
