To think someone is stuck in 2007 and is trying to get a message to us

What is going on with all the zombie threads today? And not all the same username either. Every thread I've clicked on this morning has been a zombie thread resurrected with some pointless comment/advice

OP posts:
dudsville · 02/08/2022 09:34

How funny! It could be the plot of a new indie film; wineries stuck in time tried to communicate via old MN threads! But yes, I've wondered about that too.

AnnonAlong · 02/08/2022 09:34

Tbh I have had a few old threads pop up in my recommended tab on the website

Might be a glitch

alnawire · 02/08/2022 09:35

It's the same person. They will have just opened another account. It's for attention.

alnawire · 02/08/2022 09:35

It's no glitch. It's deliberate.

35965a · 02/08/2022 09:35

We need to time travel back to 2007 and rescue Abbie

ReeseWitherfork · 02/08/2022 09:36

Maybe there’s a big time difference?

Treabrea · 02/08/2022 09:36

How do they even find them? And when MN moved to this new system a few months ago why did they keep all the ancient threads? Surely someone could have just pressed delete on anything older than 5 years?!

CharlieAndTooManyCharacters · 02/08/2022 09:36

I’d like to be stuck in 2007. Maybe I can swap with them.

I think I’d concentrate on making some much better life choices rather than posting about farts though.

ReeseWitherfork · 02/08/2022 09:40

Wasn’t 2007 the summer of rain caused by Rihanna and her umbrella? Seeing as were in a hosepipe ban… I wouldn’t mind a bit of 2007

JenniferBarkley · 02/08/2022 09:42

Gosh, in 2007 I had just finished uni and was delightfully carefree. Let's embrace it I say.

ThanksAntsThants · 02/08/2022 09:48

On the main AIBU topic page you can skip to page 7000 and something. I’ve just clicked on it and the threads are from 2007, so they’ve probably just done that. I’m sure it’s deliberate.

Same! I'd go back to 2007! (And invest in cryptocurrency, zoom before the pandemic and meet DP earlier)

Jemimapinotduck · 02/08/2022 09:53

How do you know it's by someone called Abbie, I've seen it mentioned a couple of times on the threads but haven't seen the name anywhere... Anyway wish she would stop, I keep getting excited about a new thread only to realise its ancient

MN are deleting her posts

alnawire · 02/08/2022 09:54

xxabbie something was the first username they used.

FilthyforFirth · 02/08/2022 09:54

Yes I was wondering why people are calling them Abbie?!

JustJoinedRightNow · 02/08/2022 10:04

It’s definitely someone called xxxabbiexxxx - my theory, she has revived threads from 2007 which is the year she was born.

HQ have removed her post and removed some threads, some still remain. It’s very annoying Abbie if you’re there. Stop it!

CheGuevaraandDebussy · 02/08/2022 10:08

If they've got to hit the next button at the bottom of the home page and hit the last page instead, it'll bring up threads from 2007 and they'll think it's page 2, not page seven thousand and odd..

I've got much less sympathy for threads being resuscitated from other years than when it's the last page of threads, because that's such an easy mistake to make.

NotSorry · 02/08/2022 10:09

If you look at the thread on site stuff, she has now been banned

NiqueNique · 02/08/2022 10:10

😆😆 Brilliant, that did make me chuckle! I’ve clicked on a few and thought wtf.

The only resurrected thread worth reading today is

This one

for the fantastic update from OP.

alnawire · 02/08/2022 10:10

They haven't stopped though, just using a different account.

petridishmystery · 02/08/2022 10:12

A FB page for a newspaper (can’t remember which one) posted a link to a 2015 thread a few days ago which is weird enough, but it only had 5 posts and no resolution, not sure how they even found it! I thought that was really weird.

BogRollBOGOF · 02/08/2022 10:13

I clicked on a zombie the other day that had appeared in the standard recent list on the AIBU board. That one was a glitch not ressurected.

Zombies do tend to rise in the holidays though.

Has the carpet fitter finally filled up its 40 pages so it can finally rest in peace? That's one that seems to resurface every few years.

Wheresthebeach · 02/08/2022 10:15

Seriously irritating...I assume it's a teen in need of a summer job...

Charlize43 · 02/08/2022 10:17

I was in a much better place in 2007 and we didn't have the cost of living crisis, Covid and the rest of the shit show. Let's embrace it!

Has anyone seen Atonement yet?
