I can't sleep. I'm really tired but I'm having heart palpitations which is not usual for me and it's making me unsettled and keeping me awake. Normally i could fall asleep on a clothes line!

Baby will be awake at 6am and I'm not sure I can manage a full day of parenting on a couple of hours sleep! But that's a problem for tomorrow I guess.

So what's everyone else's middle of the night story?

OP posts:
ImJustMum · 30/07/2022 02:19

Working, be here till 5am and finally in bed just before 6am. Which is almost 24hrs awake by that point!

feliznavidad2 · 30/07/2022 02:19

Awake with five week old, who's just guzzled some milk and now waiting to put her down (waiting a short while as otherwise she can bring some of it back up.)

Hope you get some zzz soon OP.

PopGoesBang · 30/07/2022 02:26

Ah op. Hope they settle and you can get some sleep.

I'm 38+6 and go in for induction on Sunday, which I guess is now technically tomorrow. Been uncomfortable all night but now my knee seems to have swollen and be causing me loads of pain. Debating some paracetamol but had a sweep and worried it might dull the start of any labour pains (wishful thinking on my part I think!)

sanityisamyth · 30/07/2022 02:30

I'm always awake. If I get more than 5 hours in broken pieces it's a good night. I usually wake up 2 or 3 times during the night.

RoseMartha · 30/07/2022 02:43

I fell asleep in bed with the light on about half ten and woke just after 1, been trying to go back to sleep with the light off ever since, about ten mins ago I gave up.

Confusedabout · 30/07/2022 02:48

DDog woke me up shaking his head non stop. Cleaned his ears now waiting for him to resettle before I go back to sleep .

tinkertailor2 · 30/07/2022 02:48

My 2 year old has been sick twice. I've been dealing with it for a few hours but my DH has taken oven. Just listening to him crying and it's breaking my heart.

theniceunderstandingone · 30/07/2022 02:48

My 10 and 2 year olds don't have a routine or specific bedtime (yes I know 😤) so as soon as they are up it's full on noise and MUM MUM MUUUUUM.

I'm a single parent and have no time to myself in the day. So once they've conked out at 10.30/11pm this is my time to eat the ice cream, paint my nails, watch shows with sex in them and scroll on my phone or read a book uninterrupted

Hope your palpitations go away soon x

SheeplessAndCounting · 30/07/2022 02:49

Don't ask!!! 🤣🤣

skippy67 · 30/07/2022 02:52

Dd 21 is out and the last few texts I've sent haven't been delivered. So I'm awake and stressing...

concernedguineapig · 30/07/2022 02:54

Night shift on a very busy delivery suite. Have just delivered a gorgeous baby boy. Lucky to get a break tonight so I'm enjoying it before I get called back out into the craziness. Wondering whether it's a full moon!?

Pushing30 · 30/07/2022 02:58

I fell asleep at around 9, but woke up about 15 mins ago in a sweat. Now lying in bed with the fan on attempting to sleep.

Hope everyone manages to get some sleep soon!

firsttimemomma93 · 30/07/2022 03:03

Same as @feliznavidad2 !
Just fed my 6 week old (who now sounds like a baby tetradactyl) partner snoring the other side of me! 😴
Oh no @SunflowerGardens hope they settle soon and you manage to get some sleep! 💐

firsttimemomma93 · 30/07/2022 03:06

Dd 21 is out and the last few texts I've sent haven't been delivered. So I'm awake and stressing...

Hoping you hear from her soon.

GoT1904 · 30/07/2022 03:08

I'm childfree tonight so me and DF have been spending time together watching Netflix and playing games 🥰 Also 10 weeks pregnant so naturally can't quite settle yet as I'm running to the bathroom every 5/10 mins.

Hope your palpitations settle soon. They're rotten :(

kirby2000 · 30/07/2022 03:09

Baby is moving a lot and kicking my ribs so I can't sleep. So I'm looking at names, 35 weeks and she still doesn't have a name😬😬

ThisBooksCanDo · 30/07/2022 03:09

Insomnia here. Have just made myself a cup of tea and some toast. Fingers crossed for sleep soon

DangerouslyBored · 30/07/2022 03:13

Pregnancy insomnia 😤 27 +1 weeks.

Could your heart palpitations be an iron deficiency? I had them, along with ringing in my ears, when I was deficient in ferritin.

ElevenOG · 30/07/2022 03:13

I had 2 coffees and 2 Diet Cokes yesterday and I think the caffeine has only just kicked in. The cat knew I was struggling to sleep so he started punching me in the face so now I'm sat here eating Coco Pops and trying to entertain him with the laser pen.

Summer776 · 30/07/2022 03:20

Fell asleep 7.30 for 30 mins and struggled to sleep since. Also cramping, period just started so taken 2 ibuprofen and made hot water bottle.

ArtyFartyQueen · 30/07/2022 03:21

One of the local foxes is calling (sounds like they’re screaming!) and woke me up! I’m generally awake a couple of times during the night though - don’t sleep that well as lots in my mind 😞

Hope you all manage to get enough sleep so you can enjoy your weekend 😊

LadyLaSnack · 30/07/2022 03:24

6 week old baby who won’t breastfeed properly yet.

So I feed him, then I express. Watching reruns of First Dates at the mo, which I love!

Softpebbles · 30/07/2022 03:24

I wish I knew 🤯

Bloodybridget · 30/07/2022 03:25

Just having a particularly bad night. Bedclothes slightly too hot, but it's too cold with none (we're not at home). Leaving here tomorrow - i.e. today - for a second week away, which I'm slightly apprehensive about, big family thing. Having woken for about the fifth time, I've just had tea and bread and butter; oddly enough this usually helps on the worst nights.
