To ask why you're awake?

I can't sleep. I'm really tired but I'm having heart palpitations which is not usual for me and it's making me unsettled and keeping me awake. Normally i could fall asleep on a clothes line!

Baby will be awake at 6am and I'm not sure I can manage a full day of parenting on a couple of hours sleep! But that's a problem for tomorrow I guess.

So what's everyone else's middle of the night story?

Because I live in NZ and it's 2.30pm of a vey long Saturday day...

My daughter text me to say she's unhappy

But I've got insomnia as a side effect of stopping some medication, I'm supposed to be taking a new one but it made me so drowsy today I couldn't drive and I need to drive tomorrow so I skipped it

Always awake 2 or 3 times a night for an hour or so ..... Hate broken sleep but at least it's Saturday so no work! Fingers crossed everyone gets to sleep soon! 🤞🙏😴

Struggling to stop thinking about my sons great grandma turning her back on him and telling me she's no interest in him at all she's my husbands nan and I can't understand how anyone can turn there back on such a beautiful desperately wanted boy 💔 but I've made the decision that he will not know who she is ever so she can turn her back when ever she wants it won't hurt him but still hurts me

Chronic insomniac so usually always awake. But we are in Spain, it's 27 degrees and there's no a/c at the villa, so am awake, and hot!

Had a bit too much to drink and woke up feeling a bit, well... that I'd overdone it! My own fault ... but waking up in the night is currently a symptom of my age (a bit hot-flushy!) and me overthinking some work issues...

2 DC with sickness bug. One has just woken to run to the toilet to be sick, which is great, as the last 4 nights, they've done it in bed. However, it's coming from both ends, so I've still had a massive clean up to do ....

Awake feeling sorry for myself with tonsillitis ☹️ antibiotics have not kicked in yet....meh!

Awake worrying because my MIL is in hospital and they told my husband today that if her kidneys don’t start recovering soon, she’s only got a couple of weeks. They can’t help her heart recover until the kidneys start working and they can’t do dialysis because her heart isn’t pumping.

Husband was already signed off work with trying to deal with anxiety and depression, and he only lost his dad eight months ago. He’s an only child and I’m not sure how he, or we, his wife and little boy, are going to cope.

I'm at work. I'm so tired I can hardly concentrate, it going to be a long night, roll on 7am

I’ve been awake since 2am worrying about money, the future in general, the cost of living crisis and how we’re going to afford everything. Thinking back to all the silly things I’ve wasted money on over the years and wishing I’d been more careful.

I sleep quickly but up and down all night, which has only gotten worst during Summer holidays and no routine 🤦🏻‍♀️
My 5 year old son visiting his paternal family today, my first alone time in 3 weeks so had an afternoon nap, I full of energy on his return but he was exhausted so he chilled and I cleaned organised house. When he finally went to sleep I kept going and got carried away. 3 rooms and a cupboard later I've finally stopped for some phone time and chill before I try and sleep too 🤦🏻‍♀️ tomorrow will be fun though 😂

Cat woke me up at 3am and now my menopausal body thinks that’s it for the night.

At A&E with my mum, she twisted her knee getting off a stool earlier, bless her. Four and a half hours and counting…

I’m having medical management for a missed miscarriage and I’ve woken up because I’m bleeding heavily. Sitting up in bed now to ease the cramps.

Night shift 3rd 12 1/2 hour in a row.

Teen DS is sick. High temp and very sweaty. His room is too hot, so he's currently asleep on the couch. He asked me to stay with him as he keeps waking with nightmares, which he hasn't done since he was much younger. Hopefully the paracetamol will kick in soon and we can both go back to our beds.

I’m not well. D&V. Had it on Tuesday and thought I’d recovered so am staying with a friend tonight, but two glasses of wine and a very small portion of chili has started it off again so I’m locked in their bathroom. DH thinks I need hospital, but that seems overkill to me.

1.5 year old still has a bottle in the night so had it 3ish and instead of going straight to sleep as usual he's wide awake and wants to play. I'd only managed to sleep at 1.30am so am knackered.

I'm awake as I keep coughing due to my second bout of Covid... Am going to put some sleep music on to cover the noise of chicken's making a racket up the road!!!

Bad period pain. Waiting on painkillers kicking in and hopefully get back to sleep
