I’ve caught a horrendous stomach bug off my baby and haven’t eaten since yesterday morning. I can’t face any food at all and when I have tried I’ve just bought it back up. I’m breastfeeding though so know I need some calories.

Any miracle meals you swear by? I don’t have any food restrictions, although dairy is seeming really unappealing right now!

Cold, dry toast (Altho a scrape of marg if you think you’d be ok) and/or clear soup (I usually have a tub of bouillon powder in the cupboard)

but the main thing is hydration

UpToMyElbowsInDiapers · 23/07/2022 14:44

Clear chicken broth
salty crackers
a piece of toast with honey
lots of strong ginger tea

I hope you feel better soon!

DoNotGetADog · 23/07/2022 14:53

Really strong salt and vinegar crisps, eg McCoy’s or Discos.

Sherbet Lemons (although I’m not sure you can really call them food!)

ThatsAllFolks · 23/07/2022 15:27

Pint of fullfat milk

Soubriquet · 23/07/2022 15:29

Anything I can stomach.

If can eat it, I do. If I can’t, I don’t

Boiled apple 😁 trust me! It's good!!!! You can add a touch of cinnamon, even honey but no need

I like cut in small pieces, peeled and to boil in low water

Poetnojo · 23/07/2022 15:37

Ready salted crisps

TheNonsensePotter · 23/07/2022 15:47

Scrambled egg on toast and flat lemonade!

ClumpingBambooIsALie · 23/07/2022 15:48

Porridge made up with water, with some sweetener. It's what I always got as a kid so it's comforting because of that, plus it's manageable on a dodgy tummy, looks/feels/tastes much the same on the way up as the way down, it's got slow-release energy meaning if you can't face eating more than once or twice a day you'll not get energy crashes, doesn't take too much effort to eat, tastes okay even if you're all bunged up, gives your intestines something to work with…

MarianosOnHisWay · 23/07/2022 15:49

Suck a boiled sweet- pear drops for me

ExclamationMarc · 23/07/2022 15:50

Bouillon and water biscuits because I usually can't stand long enough to cook and these are very quick. Maybe a banana or microwave basmati rice or some yogurt. If someone can cook for you mashed potatoes or boiled potatoes with salt help, too.

Derrymum123 · 23/07/2022 15:50

Jewish chicken soup. It is a cure for anything.

quietnightmare · 23/07/2022 15:54

Just getting over food poisoning myself- toast, ready salted crisps, breadsticks and packet noodles are what I’ve managed.

Omg I couldn't think of anything worse when you're being sick or recovering 🤮🤢

NeedMoMoney · 23/07/2022 16:15

Mash potatoes ☺️

Perfectlystill · 23/07/2022 16:15

Toast with butter and Bovril

SocksAndTheCity · 23/07/2022 16:17

Plain crackers
Cornflakes with skimmed milk (the only time I eat cornflakes)
Breadsticks, dry toast - basically incredibly bland, dry carbs.

MrsClatterbuck · 23/07/2022 16:18

As a child my mum would give me mashed potatoes with a good bit of butter and peas mixed in with it. Easy to get down at least for me. Nowadays I have a bowl of tomato soup.

Borisisafecklesstoad · 23/07/2022 16:19

Knorr packets of chicken noodle soup, plain crisps and custard when i start to feel better.

Maximoose · 23/07/2022 16:36
