What do you eat when you’re poorly?

I’ve caught a horrendous stomach bug off my baby and haven’t eaten since yesterday morning. I can’t face any food at all and when I have tried I’ve just bought it back up. I’m breastfeeding though so know I need some calories.

Any miracle meals you swear by? I don’t have any food restrictions, although dairy is seeming really unappealing right now!

I think whatever you fancy and can stomach eat.

I am just recovering from food poisoning and that's the approach I took.

For 2 days all I managed was Cornish wafer crackers.

After 2 days I managed a little mash potato for lunch and some crackers through the day. I also managed a small bowl of custard.
I had that again the next day too.

Day 5 I had some plain rice with black beans for tea as well as the mash for lunch.

Today I managed a bit more, so had a small home made pizza for tea.

I hope you recover quickly.

In terms of rehydration if you’ve had diarrhoea, skip the water. Water will just be pulled into your stomach and straight back out again - not actually doing anything. Sip some full fat, full sugar coca-cola instead, it will actually stay in your system and the salts and sugars will balance out your electrolytes and give you a bit of energy.
