What do you eat when you’re poorly?

I’ve caught a horrendous stomach bug off my baby and haven’t eaten since yesterday morning. I can’t face any food at all and when I have tried I’ve just bought it back up. I’m breastfeeding though so know I need some calories.

Any miracle meals you swear by? I don’t have any food restrictions, although dairy is seeming really unappealing right now!

ritz crackers
digestive biscuits
toast (with just honey if I can’t stomach butter)
breakfast biscuits (go ahead, belvita etc, dry ones)
baked ready salted crisps
plain rice cakes

once I’m feeling a bit better, a vegetable or minestrone soup for some actual nutrients

hope you feel better soon OP!

I'm curious, how does

Slice of bread with ham filling

differ from a ham sandwich?

AKnitterofThings · 23/07/2022 17:54

Another vote for toast and marmite.

Marmite27 · 23/07/2022 18:10

Toast, ritz crackers, tomato or chicken soup.

progressing to beans or scrambled eggs on toast. Though as DH ruins scrambled eggs, I have to feel significantly better to have those. I miss living with my parents acutely at that moment every time Grin

KezzabellaB · 23/07/2022 18:48

Toast and tomato soup. Or salty crisps, but the baked kind so they're not oily. Rich tea biscuits.

TheTeenageYears · 23/07/2022 18:53

Freshly cooked rice is the gentlest, least likely to cause more upset thing to eat that's filling.

Elevenerifebruv · 23/07/2022 18:54

Also cereal without milk
Chips with salt and vinegar
Ginger beer
White bread with Nutella
Ring donuts or yum yums
Skips
Prawn crackers
Crisp sandwich or fish finger sandwich
Hot dogs
